In spite of other reviews ours is negative. Our diner at Salu was bad. Really bad. We made an online reservation for 7 pm. We greeted the waiter. He asked if we made a reservation. Then he couldn’t find it in the book, so he had no table for us. A colleague corrected him. We had a nice table outside. It wasn’t busy. Dinner. The starter was special. The main course. Vegetables burned, black. The meat of medium quality. Haf way dinner we got a plate with food. We thought it was included in our order. So we were tasting it. Then the waiter came again telling it wasn’t for us. We should have told him he said. But we didn’t know we replied and; it is your job as a waiter. My wife and I both had a glass of different white wine. Half way I ordered a second glass for me. Without asking he topped the glass of my wife with my wine. So she had a mix. Not asked for. Unbelievable. All of a sudden the waiter dropped the bill on the table and we were not asked if we would like a desert. Also not asked for. The bill was around €120. I went in to pay and made a complaint about all of this and the waiter who was very rude to us. I said also that burned food can give you cancer in front if the cook. And the service at the table was terrible. The waiter showed up in an aggressive way with words and gestures. I had to send him away because the staff did not. After many sorry’s the lady offered us as a compensation a glass of wine from the house. No discount for the burned food and bad service. The cook went out with us and apologised for the waiters bad behaviour. It was our anniversary dinner and she knew because I told her on the phone before we came. I am not a tourist; I am a resident. So if and when I should go there once more I do not want to see this...
Read moreI recently dined at Salu Grill&Wine Restaurant and I was blown away by both the seafood tagliatelle and the panna cotta.
The seafood tagliatelle was exceptional. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the seafood was fresh and generously portioned. The combination of shrimp, mussels, and calamari in a rich, flavorful sauce brought everything together beautifully. It had just the right amount of garlic, herbs, and a hint of white wine that really elevated the dish. It was a comforting yet sophisticated plate of pasta that seafood lovers should not miss.
For dessert, the panna cotta was the perfect finale. Silky smooth with just the right wobble, it was light yet indulgent. The vanilla bean flavor was delicate and paired perfectly with the berry compote on top. It was not too sweet, making it a refreshing way to end the meal.
Overall, both dishes were top-notch, and the service matched the quality of the food. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys fresh seafood and sangria ! I'll definitely...
Read moreWe were pleasantly surprised to find a table here for dinner in this busy area. This restaurant is quieter than the plaza with seating at the front and down a quiet side-street with minimal foot-traffic and no cars. There was a good selection of wines and cocktails were well-made. The starters were delicious, especially the mussels in gorgonzola sauce and large tiger prawns. We ordered mains of beef entrecôte and duck, which were cooked perfectly to our preferences. Our only note for improvement was that the Cesar salad had too much dressing on it. All servers were friendly, good-humoured, quick and helpful - this is clearly a very friendly, well-run restaurant. Thank you...
