Went to charquito a few times the last couple of years when visiting Spain. The service and quality of food keeps me coming back. This time around we went there for lunch and a few days later visited for dinner. As always the service was great. Helena made sure our lunch was a great experience. She was very helpful guiding us through their offerings. During our dinner visit the bar staff were very helpful and professional. We were offered to take a spot inside, by the bar. We were a bit hesitant but it was the right move. Outside was crowded and the weather very warm. Indoors was very pleasant as the AC kept things very nice and cool. The atmosphere was great. Although the food and wine was very good, the owner, who from minute go of me sitting down whilst I waited for my wife, seem to have an attitude with me, the waitress came to clear the plates, at this point the miserable owner, came to the table and infront of and my wife and I spoke to the waitress, he told her not to serve us anymore food or wine, and that he wanted us to leave, I know he said this in Spanish, as my wife is Spanish. Read morePor desgracia se puede morir de éxito. Tasca el charquito, un clásico e Benicassim que se distingue por la calidad del producto y su ambiente de Taberna andaluza. Pero cuando pretendemos equiparar los precios de una Tasca a los de un restaurante de nivel más alto vienen los problemas. Nuestra experiencia: Mesa de plástico encima de la acera con mantel de papel con el menú impreso , hasta aquí todo lo esperado pero cuando empiezas a mirar los precios empiezas a sentir confusión: 1-Empezamos con puntillitas fritas - correctas 2-Setas de temporada a la plancha - insuficiente cocción ( prácticamente crudas )y con taquitos de ajo crudo por encima ( textura no agradable) . Una de las variedades con sabor a pescado por mezcla de sabores en la plancha. 3- Gambas blancas a la plancha. Buen sabor y buena preparación pero tamaño muy pequeño. 12 u 20€. No pedimos las Gambas rojas de Blanes porque su precio era de 10€/ unidad ( tamaño N ⁰2) 4- Pluma de cerdo ibérico a la plancha. Punto de cocción insuficiente ( estaba crudo por dentro) y cantidad pequeña. Cualquier persona con formación en manipulación de alimentos sabe que la carne de cerdo nunca puede tener ese punto de cocción por el riesgo de transmisión de triquinosis. Pedimos que cocinen la carne más y nos la vuelven a servir cruda por dentro y muy hecha por fuera Hora de pedir la cuenta: 6 cervezas, 5 copas de vino, 1 agua, 1 café y un postre. 126 euros. 41,5 euros por persona para un tapeo más que una cena . Por este motivo tengo que decir que El Charquito está sobrevalorada y necesitan revisar varios aspectos para ser capaces de justificar...
