What an amazing little find this place is. Just off the main Square in Benissa is this extraordinarily friendly, welcoming and very Spanish, family run restaurant. The service is amazing. The mum and the dad don't speak much English but they do not let it stop them explaining the whole menu to you in a very friendly manner.😁 The son is better with English and is extraordinarily polite and helpful with everything from suggestions about the food to the local area. The food itself is very good quality, everything is cooked fresh and it is also well priced with a good selection. In addition to the main menu there is also a specials board. The atmosphere is very Spanish and local with not many tourists. You must try the fresh tuna and homemade cheesecake. If you are in Benissa and want a traditional Spanish meal, then I can't recommend this place enough. My only slight negative is the fact that it is called a pizzeria as yes they do pizzas but they do so much more and the first time we went, if we hadn't have checked out the menu on the table outside, we may have walked past as I wasn't in the mood for pizza or pasta. The patatas bravas were great. The grilled vegetables and the venus clams á la marinara were perfect. The pizza on the other side. Let's put it this way: if you're not Italian or never had a real Italian pizza in your life, then you might be happy with what they serve. So despite this place calling itself to be a Pizzeria I would strongly recommend to choose anything but a pizza from the menu.

Ein Restaurant, welches wir regelmäßig und gerne seit Jahren besucht haben. Tapas und Salate sind stets sehr gut. Auf der Speisekarte steht zudem Paella, ohne Preis. Da unser Spezialitätenrestaurant für Paella zur Zeit geschlossen hat, wollten wir bei Miguel (Chaplin) mit Vorbestellung eine Paella Mixta erstmals probieren. Trotz Vorbestellung für 19 Uhr haben wir eine 3/4 Stunde warten müssen. Ergebnisoffen haben wir die Paella empfangen und probiert. Resultat: man sollte diese Paella besser ganz von der Karte nehmen. Damit macht Miguel seine Gäste absolut nicht glücklich. Wir haben mit ihm über die Qualität gesprochen. Das die Paella sehr weich und garnicht kross auf der Unterseite war, entschuldigte er damit, 90 % der Gäste mögen das nicht. Allerdings mögen wir aber die originale spanische Paella. Man kann von Seiten der Gastronomie ja ganz einfach fragen, wie man die Paella möchte, wie beim Steak diese Frage gestellt wird. Die recht kleine Paella selbst war sehr schwach im Geschmack, wenig belegt mit 2 kleinen Gambas für 2 Personen, kleine geschmacklose Fleischstückchen mit viel Knochen. Letztlich hat uns der Preis umgeworfen. 20,- Euro/ Person, gleich 40,- Euro. Für eine solche 2 Personen Paella und erst recht mit dieser Qualität ist das heftig überteuert und unangemessen.
