Delicious, traditional, Riojas cooking served in a pleasant atmosphere with kind, attentive staff. Ruth helped us decipher the menu and her recommendations were terrific. The lamb chops brought to the table on a smoking brazier are a must-have as is another house special, menestra-- a "vegetable stew" that isn't pretty but sure is tasty! Just about every table in the restaurant had these dishes on both of our visits. The cod in the Riojana style and the solomillo de ternera (steak) also were awesome. No es comparable a cuando te dice tu pariente pijillo " vamos a comer a Le Maison du Puturrú fua", donde adivinas racion escasa, postureo y sablazo. No señor, comer donde Txomin significa raciones generosas, especialidades de la casa, ambiente bullicioso, precio justo y rico olor a chuletillas al sarmiento. Nuestra experiencia no pudo ser mas positiva. Pedimos la menestra (que no ministra) de verduras que es la especialidad de la casa totalmente recomendable, paté, chorizo (muy suave y rico). De segundos chuletillas al sarmiento, merluza a la plancha y merluza rebozada. Postres caseros flan, tarta de whisky, tarta de queso, piña etc. etc. En total, seis personas, unos 190€.
