Winebar Diferent e in Caldas de Reis, Spain, is an exceptional place for wine enthusiasts. I would not specifically recommend this place if you are on the Camino, looking for a budgetproof pelgrim menu.
The selection of wines from the region is outstanding. Whether you prefer enjoying a glass or sharing a bottle with friends, this wine bar has got you covered.
But Winebar Diferent e is not just about exquisite wines; their food offerings are impressive. The tablas (shared platters) are a great option for those looking to sample a variety of flavors. And the assortment of salads and pates that come with bread is simply mouthwatering.
If you're looking to bring back some souvenirs, Winebar Diferent e offers a range of options that are worth considering. The fresh honey from the region seems a must-try, and their selection of chocolates and pates would surely please any foodlover. It's the perfect way to bring a taste of Caldas de Reis back...
Read moreI ordered octopus, pardon, and scallops for dinner tonight. I've been having these dishes for almost 10 days on my Camino route, and every restaurant served them well, but this place was the worst. When I asked for rock salt, the owner gave me a look and brought regular salt instead. The octopus was chewy and gritty with sand. I informed the waiter, who claimed it was salt, but I knew the difference. He offered to take the octopus back, but I was still charged 15€ for the three pieces I ate. The waiter said it was the owner's policy to charge for it, despite the dish being subpar and...

I had Galician soup that was broth with 3 chunks of potato. Then “seafood rice” that came out luke-warm. The rice wasn’t fully cooked and had a single clam in it, which I guess is enough to make it “seafood rice” and not just rice. It seems like it operates as a simple and nice wine bar, but is a sad attempt at a restaurant. I don’t leave reviews often, but I hope to save other pilgrims from the experience I had. I went and ate somewhere else...
