O Encontro Gastrobar — Restaurant in Caldas de Reis

I wanted to go here. Mom decided on a different place, it was sketchy so we had a beer and moved on. Next place wouldn't serve us, don't know why. The next place was closed. We ended eating here where I wanted to dine originally, it was the best choice. We had beer(tasty), scallops(sooo goood), and burgers(full of flavor)! What an amazing taste! Unique, delicious and the right amount. It made everything better when our server, a young woman who just started, brought us a local Galician liquor for after dinner that was delicious! We tried two of the three flavors! We asked for a better place to dine, this was IT! The staff was lovely and friendly, they didn't turn us down. The owner made an effort to go out to the Camino route to distribute the leaflet to pilgrims (great marketing). After checking into our accommodation, we scanned the QR code on the leaflet and realised it is only a couple of minute walk there. We arrived at about 3pm. There were a couple of tables with fellow pilgrims eating. We ordered the Galician broth as starter. It is so yummy. John ordered chicken and I ordered hake as main course. John said the chicken is so tender and juicy. My grilled hake is so delicious. Bottle water or house wine is included. At the end of our meal, we were offered either dessert or coffee. We ordered one dessert and one coffee. For €12.50 per person for 3 course meal including drinks, it is really good value. Muchas Gracias...

We had the pilgrim menu at this restaurant and it was a great experience. The waiters were incredibly fast, professional, and well-coordinated — you could tell they knew exactly what they were doing. It was impressive to watch them work so efficiently, always attentive and organized.

The food was delicious and came in a generous portion, full of good nutritional value — exactly what a tired pilgrim needs. The menu cost €13.50, which was very reasonable for the quality and quantity. They also have a stamp for pilgrims. Coffe is not the best one on the world. 😁
