Please do not be fooled by my photos. I had to vastly improve the food myself using the sauces and seasonings available. This was without a doubt the most disappointing meal after spending 3 weeks in Spain. I have visited this area many times over the years and these seafront restaurants serving all the seafood you could desire used to be not only very cheap but also good quality but over the years they have declined hugely. With the opening of many new and modern restaurants around the area this seafood restaurant feels so dated in terms of decor, food, and service that I don't know how it is still surviving. We chose this place as they do the cheapest oysters but it turns out you're better off paying double the price for double the size oysters at a much more exclusive restaurant which I have already reviewed on here. Yes they throw in free starters and bottles of wine or sangria Etc but the quality of the Seafood is massively below par and I ended up with food poisoning that evening which I can only assume was from the oysters that didn't appear fresh at all. By the time they arrived at my table. one of the shells was completely broken and none of them had very much liquid in them at all. I was dubious when I saw them but we went ahead and ate them anyway (big mistake). The atmosphere is terrible and feels like you could be sitting in someone's garden on cheap plastic chairs. The view isn't great either even though you are right at the Port you just sit facing Market stalls and can't even see the ocean. Higiene deficiente, eramos 13 personas, nos han colocado debajo de un chamizo con un calor sofocante, nos han mandado a otro comedor con aire acondicionado pero parecia mas bién el almacén. Pedimos 3 platos de mejillones ( resecos y sin sabor) 3 platos de tellinas (sin sabor solo sabia a picadillo) 3 platos de fritura ( cantidades y variedad mal distribuida). Para beber 4 botellas de vino blanco pq solo entraban 4 bebidas pero nos las trajeron todas a la vez le tuvimos q decir q las trajeran cuando se fueran terminando pq no lo queriamos caliente. Botellas de agua de medio litro q no aparecian sobre pedir reiteradamente, precio a parte . Los refrescos de los niños lo mismo precio aparte, Pedimos pan con tomate i ajo aceite q suelen ponertelo a su cargo, cobrado y cada morterito de ajo aceite choví (ni casero, tal cual sale de fabrica servido en la mesa) y del tamaño de un dedal 1'50, cuando deberia ir incluido con el tomate. Para comer 2 calderos, uno de arroz negro (pasable) y uno de arroz del señoret insaboro. Estos dos platos en cualquier lugar se come con ajo aceite y ya va incluido con el caldero. Pues para nuestra sorpresa no estaba incluido. Con un tamaño de un dedal q ya he comentado hemos tenido q pedir 9 "dedales" de ajo aceite. No incluye postre, si cafes. Lo mejor vino a la hora de pagar. 250€ ( bien) 19'23 por persona. Yo pago 3 q son 57'70, mi hermano lo mismo 3 personas, otros 57'70. Mi hermana tambíen 3 personas 57'70 y paga con targeta, mi otra hermana 4 personas 77€. Todo correcto. Cuando ya estamos fuera en el mercadillo viene un encargado corriendo y nos llama la atención delante de todos los comensales acusandonos de q le debemos 20€. Ante nuestro asombro y la vergüenza ante la situación de q todos los allí presentes nos estaban mirando entramos a ver donde estaba el problema. Pues nada, resulto ser un fallo del cobrador, pero el apuro y la falta de tacto y su mala gestión eso ya no nos lo quitó nadie. Ni una disculpa nos dierón, al contrario, al pedir explicación por ese trato y su error, todavia nos humillarón y le dijeron a mi hermana "relajese señora" Una autentica vergüenza, Y el pirata ya no os quiero ni contar. Un mendigo da mejor imagen q ese señor. Mal trato, mala comida y mala educación por parte de su personal. Aaah!! Pedi a un camarero q nos hiciera una foto con una camara digital por favor y me dijo q si no tenia tecnologia moderna, q metiera esa camara en una vitrina bajo llave.... Sin palabras. Todos tenemos buenos mobiles, lo de la camará fué por un tema familiar personal, la educación ante el cliente debe de ser ejemplar y con una sonrisa siempre y no tomarse esas confianzas ni hablarme con ese desprecio y tono burlesco. No me vuelven a ver por ese chiringuito ni harta de esa sangria malisima por cierto. Siempre vamos a una marisqueria en croncreto y es q cuando algo es de primera no hay q cambiar. A restaurant near the port. We had a mixed fish platter and it was very much a mixed bag, good oysters, good small squid, salmon, sardines and grilled squid. The hake, flatfish, pescadilla and salmonete were tasteless. The mussels certainly didn't taste fresh. The price was 38€ but we paid nearer 50€ because the oysters and a stale bread roll were extra. At the end of the day 38€ for that much seafood was not expensive. Personally I'm always happy to pay more for good quality and perhaps the price should have sounded alarm bells. The service was the grudging minimum acceptable, for example, we ordered dry white wine and got a fruity white wine. They don't skimp on the portions btw, so, if you value low price and quantity over quality you may well award more than my two stars.
