Restaurante CANADA. — Restaurant in Calp

Worst service I’ve ever experienced in Calpe Went for lunch today in this restaurant expecting a relaxing lunch with my husband. The starters were good , mussels, chopitos (fried squid) and fish soup. Then the waiter brought our main course (entrecôte steaks-medium rare)while we were still on the starters so we said no please give us more time; he huffed and walked away with the plates. We asked for the wine list and was told the house wine was the best so we asked again for the list as we wanted a nice wine and finally got it after asking twice. We ordered a nice bottle of red and it didn’t arrive until after we asked again. Then the waiter tried again to bring our mains so I said please can we wait another five mins and he said “you should’ve said when you ordered you wanted a break between” Then the steaks came (well done) and it was the same plates as before as the food was freezing We sent them back and were met with more bad attitude from the waiter. Just all in all a bad experience due to the staff but the location is great on the port but there are plenty of better ones to go to so give this one...

On going to Calpe mainly to visit the daily 5pm fish auction which is happening in the port not far from a line of predominantly fish restaurants we chose Canada. They displayed the range of fish and didn't overpower you trying to drag you in. Menu choice were 3 course meals including a glass of wine. Choice of 10 starters-we choose mussels which were great size and delicious and for mains you have an option from 3 columns- all with different fish or meats- pork chop on the 18euro menu, lamb chops on the 20euro or steak on the 25euro option. We both choose sea bass and sea bream from the 20 Euro option- both delicious for the money spent- we asked for them to be filleted but still encounter some bones😪 Desserts were basic but nice to finish with. Drink wise I had zero alcohol beer and my dad had a shandy- very surprised and pleased that when the bill came that they hadnt charged for the drinks but just replaced as we didn't have the wine. We choose this restaurant cuz there were a lot of people.We order pulpo de la gallega,mejillones and rodaballa. Rodaballa and mejillones was from memu of the day,lets say like this cuz the price its 19h euros and pulpo de la gallega it’s from the “ carta” price 22 euros. Ok, me and my mom we order one menu and one dish from carta. Mejillones its was like just now they catch up from the see and bring you,pulpo it was like “zapato” from Mercadona!!! Rodaballa was good “from the plancha”

But what i want to tell all of turistas who will come to Calpe, don’t go to this place even you will see a lot of people, they the same as i was today!!! For first time!!!!
