My visit at El Toro was in some way disturbing:( I'm sorry but I really cannot recommend it. Maybe if you love meat more than everything in the world and you are not that strict like I am with some things...
Positiv: the way they decorate the dishes is very nice the meat was delicious they put the corn cob proactively from the bill after I complained the second time (first time nearly cold, second time full of fat) all in all friendly and welcoming staff provided us anti mosquito spray after four mosquito bites within
Read moreDO NOT GO. We ordered the best steak on the menu, €75 for 2 people, as per the menu, promised to be better than tomahawk. We received a undercooked, blue steak, which we sent back for it to be medium (we were with 6 more people so we ate later than the rest) when it arrived, it was so so fatty, I couldn’t even chew on the meat, I had to spit it into my napkin. We had about 7 bites of OK meat each, and the rest (1kg total) was fat and bone, the rest was unchewable. We spoke to Monika who was completely unhelpful, she told me “it’s not our fault that we can’t talk to the cow about it’s fat” trying to convince me that somehow it’s my “bad luck” for getting that piece of meat. She apologised and said there’s nothing she can do. The rest of the staff were very polite and understanding, they all completely agreed and understood what happened. The bill came and they charged us the full €75 for the meat (of a €350 bill) so I asked again, can I speak to someone about this problem? Monika, who is not the manager but is in charge whilst the manager is away, came back to tell me, she’s sorry, there’s nothing she can do. I think this restaurant has great potential, but the manager and in this case the steak was so disappointing and the resolution was very poor, I’d never come back so and I’d strongly recommend to...
Read moreIt’s a nice place, gets very busy so would recommend making a reservation or at least getting there before half 7. The only issue with eating outside is as soon as the food came so did the multitude of flies. They did give us an electric fan/windmill thing which did help keep the flies away from the food but not the table. The spare ribs didn’t have a lot of meat on them, I know they don’t as a rule but this was less. Neither steaks were cooked as requested and the ribeye was very fatty and difficult to cut. Presentation was nice however but it’s worth noting they put their own spin on the food so what you order may not be the same as you’ve ordered elsewhere. We thought the Sepia with prawns would be black pasta with prawns, it wasn’t. (Maybe we got it wrong 🤷🏼♂️) The cost of the steaks were right at the back of the menu so check those first if you are on a budget. All the meals came with jackets potato and the two boys wanted chips which you cannot swap out so they came as an extra cost. They even charged for the BBQ dipping sauce. The staff were very friendly & attentive though, €180 for two starters, 4 main, two desserts, one beer, 5 cokes...
