Absolutely blown away! As frequent visitors to the beautiful town of Paguera and long-time fans of Juan from La Terraza, we were excited to try his brand-new venture, El Jardín—and wow, what a fantastic experience from start to finish!
Located in a prime spot right next to the Waikiki Bar, El Jardín has clearly had a lot of love (and investment!) poured into it, and it shows. The setting is elegant yet relaxed, with a welcoming, laid-back charm that immediately puts you at ease. Juan’s signature warmth and hospitality shine through, and his team delivers the same impeccable service we’ve come to expect.
We popped in early afternoon to try the menu del día and were absolutely blown away by the quality, presentation, and above all—incredible value. For just €15.90 each, we enjoyed a three-course meal that rivalled top restaurants.
We both started with the Salad of Tuna and Tomato, which was simple perfection—juicy tomatoes, delicately sliced olives, and a generous helping of tuna, all dressed and seasoned beautifully. For mains, I went with the Hake, which was cooked to perfection—soft and flaky inside, with a delicate crispy breadcrumb coating, served alongside crisp salad and chips. My husband opted for the Thai Green Chicken Curry, which he described as absolutely delicious—rich, aromatic, and full of flavour.
The meal came with fresh bread, olives, and a creamy alioli to start, and we each had a glass of house wine—generous pours and a lovely touch. It’s honestly hard to believe this level of food and service is offered at such a fair price.
There’s also a second menu del día for €21.45 that includes dessert and more indulgent main courses. We spotted a stunning rice stew with lobster being served to a nearby table and the aroma alone made us vow to return soon just to try that dish!
We also had dinner here a few weeks ago and were equally impressed—consistently high-quality food, served with a smile, in a beautiful setting. El Jardín is already shaping up to be one of Paguera’s must-visit spots.
Bravo, Juan! You’ve created something really special again. Whether you're a local or just visiting, do yourself a favour and book a table—you won’t be...
Read moreWe were very disappointed with our visit. First, we ordered a tortilla as a starter, but what arrived was simply an omelet, served with salad that was already past its best. The chef even told the waitress to bring us the tortilla because “we were going to eat a lot” – even though we had only ordered two pizzas.
As for the pizzas, the dough was good and freshly made, but the ingredients didn’t match well with the base, and overall the quality was not great. On top of that, the pizzas are quite expensive for what you get. Since we couldn’t finish them, we asked to take the rest with us. We were looked at as if this was something wrong, and the pizzas were just wrapped in aluminum foil.
Throughout the meal, staff were constantly complaining to each other, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. The service was poor. Unfortunately, I cannot...
