Don't go to Oscar if you want to be treated as a human being...
Never been treated worse in my life. Stressed to order, it hadn't gone 2 minutes and we had been asked three times to order. When asked what beers they had, she wouldn't tell me before I had diced for a tap or bottle, they had in total FOUR beers, not that hard to recite... slammed the condiments on the table, with a look of disdain. When asked if the chicken nuggets contained sesame seeds ,not specified in the menu btw, the plate was taken away from the table, without any explanation, just a harsh "you should have said that the child was allergic!!!!" and the same look of disdain. We forgot, and we didn't have any intention of sending the plate back, just maybe order something...
Read moreThis was our main place to eat dinner during our trip to Canillas de Albaida. On the first night, our Spanish was about 2 weeks' worth of duolingo (definitely not enough practice 🤣), but the staff were happy to help us with our spanish a little more. The food was amazing, and Óscar and Maria are fantastic hosts. Great atmosphere and made to feel welcomed with every visit.
I tried some of the specials, all amazing.

Before opening his Bistro in Canillas, Oscar ran a restaurant in Cómpeta which was judged by the prestigious French guide “Le Routard” to be by far the best of the 24 restaurants in the town. His restaurant in Canillas has a more “Bistro” style (as suggested by the name), but the quality of the cooking has not changed. The cuisine is a fusion of classic Spanish dishes with Moroccan and Thai influences....
