Such a disappointing experience. It felt like we were treated differently.
We were a family of six. We were not shown the specials board (every other table was), and weren't given an ice bucket with the wine (again, every other table with wine was).
The starters were fab - cod croquettes were a highlight, really lovely and generous portions.
The mains took two hours to arrive. We were told when we were arrived that they were busy, but this felt extreme, and other table that had arrived long after us were served sooner.
When the mains did arrive, the pasta was VERY al dente to the point of inedible. The burger was raw despite asking for it to be medium.
When we spoke to the waitress she simply said "I'm not an expert" and proceeded to send the chef to us. It isn't a prerequisite to be an expert on burgers to know when something was raw as opposed to cooked...
The chef bizarrely said that the burger would have been fine if it was cooked longer, and the pasta was only raw in the thicker parts. i.e. raw.
Would not return,...
Read moreSpent the day exploring out of the way places in Mallorca which included, the weekly market in Inca, Cap Formentor and Alcudia. With some time to kill before dinner I searched on google for someplace different about an hour south of Alcudia and I found the restaurant La Frauga in the pretty little town of Capdepera. I don’t know how people find this place but they do and are nicelly rewarded for it. We were greated by our host Myrko who was friendly, gregarious and gracious. This is an Italian restaurant in a classic Mallorcan town that uses the local and seasonal ingredients to make some stellar Italian dishes. We started with the flat pizza bread topped with top quality prosciutto di Parma, Mallorcan olive oil and spices. I went with the fresh Mediterranean mussells in a garlicky white wine sauce that was knockout. My wife had the tagliatelle in a truffle and porcini mushroom sauce that had been recommended by Myrko. This was also a home run. An unexpected wonderful Italian meal in a place you would least expect it....

We have eaten a few times and everything from staters to dessert were superb. The service are a team of lovely young ladies who are friendly, efficient and smiling all evening.
