Xiringuito — Restaurant in Capdepera

A Tasteless Encounter: Unimpressive Food and Lackluster Service at Xiringuito.

I would caution non-Spanish speakers about dining at this establishment, as there is a possibility of less-than-pleasant service.

Attached is a picture of the risotto dish I was disappointed with, along with an untouched sangria. Unfortunately, our server did not return to check on us, and had he done so, he would have known my food was unsatisfactory.

The appetizers had mixed results. The calamari was quite enjoyable, but the mussels lacked any garlic flavor and weren’t as thoroughly cleaned as expected. Removing excessive ‘hairy beards’ from each mussel was bothersome.

My risotto was undercooked, with the rice still being too hard. Additionally, it was overly salty for my taste. While the seabass was good, the accompanying sides were lackluster and poorly seasoned.

On a positive note, the pina colada was delicious. However, I couldn’t say the same for the sangria, as it fell far short of expectations in terms of taste.

Lastly, regarding the service, it was initially good until there was a breakdown in communication. Our server rolled his eyes when there was confusion about our drink refill order. Instead of assuming our understanding and standing over us impatiently, it would have been more helpful if he had simply asked us for clarification.

In summary, the restaurant’s appeal primarily lies in its view rather than the quality of its food or service.

Stopped here for a drink as it was on the sea front and my mum loved the sea front (she passed away rapidly in February) Service was okay, took our drinks quickly, when realised we were not eating, sort of snatched our menus back. But enjoyed the drinks - homemade tropical iced tea was really good!

We asked for the bill and paid the waiter in cash, left almost a 2 euro tip and started walking away when a different waiter came after us saying we’d not paid! And looking at our tip as if thats what we had paid. I explained we already had paid a different waiter and that was supposed to be the tip… 🙈 and he apologised. A bit late as damage had been done & we were embarrassed infront of everybody. Lovely location and food did look lovely - unfortunately won’t be coming back with family like planned to again....

Wir waren heute (13.08.2025), mit unserer befreundeten Familie, in diesem, wirklich sehr schönen Restaurant. Und was soll ich sagen, es hat jede unserer Wünsche erfüllt. Für alle die zu Faul zum lesen sind: Fazit dieses Restaurant ist es wirklich wert eine sehr gute Rezension zu schreiben. (Und ich bin normalerweise zu Faul so etwas zu schreiben!) Zu den einzelnen Punkten: Essen: Die Karte hat für jeden Geschmack und Vorliebe etwas zu bieten gehabt. Angefangen damit das man die Karte schon Online einsehen konnte (was heutzutage Standart sein sollte) gab es diese ebenfalls digital, per QR Code, am Tisch. Aber natürlich gab es das Ganze auch Analog. Der Preis ist der Lokalität und der Qualität entsprechend, etwas höher. Aber absolut angemessen. Wir haben uns für zweierlei Paella, diverse Vorspeisen und für die Kinder (typisch) Chrispy Chicken mit Pommes bestellt. Und was soll man sagen? Es war wirklich sehr gut. Selbst die Kinder haben, das erste Mal, ihre vergleich zum Großen M eingestellt.

Der Service: Von der Platzeinweisung, über die Bestellung bis hin zur Abrechnung war das gesamte Personal sehr zuvorkommend und überaus freundlich. Der Großteil der Bedienung kann gut Deutsch. Auch die Karte ist sowohl auf Deutsch als auch auf Englisch übersetzt. Die Paella wurde direkt an unserem Tisch aus der Pfanne serviert, was alleine schon ein Highlight war. Vor allem aber konnten wir uns mit der Geschäftsführerin, eine gebürtige Brandenburgerin, sehr gut unterhalten und hatten so ein paar witzige Minuten On Top. Das Ambiente:

Das Restaurant ist an der felsigen Küste der Cala Rajada gelegen. Es verfügt über eine Terrasse, welche direkt ins Meer hineinragt. Hier hat man einen atemberaubenden Blick über die gesamte Bucht. Das Klientel ist größtenteils Deutsch und sehr gesittet. Das erlebt man mittlerweile sehr selten. Die Promenade ist sehr belebt, stört aber das Ambiente überhaupt nicht. Also Alles in Allem...
