Beach Bar El Refujio Playa Honda — Restaurant in Cartagena

I love it here! The service is great, the food is great, and the prices are very very reasonable. The staff are fantastic - very attentive and friendly. I don’t understand other reviewers complaining about them; they work hard and do a great job. If they appear to be watching you, they are not impatient - this is just a small bar, and there is sometimes not much for them to do but to offer to help you! Hardly a problem. They also have big screens for when major sporting events are on - and they wisely keep them turned off the rest of the time, so you can enjoy the calm of the beach.

It’s one of the only bars locally that has misting sprays, and the staff will put the beer glasses in the freezer before serving - almost everywhere else (Cocomelon, the Chiringuito, etc) will give you plastic cups. Having a freezing cold local caña for €2 while sat right next to the sea, sheltered from the heat - what more could you want?

If you are tired of El Refugio, you are tired of life....

I don't recommend the person adult man unintelligent not even saluted when we enter he stay there like he don't know nothing and then I saluted and asked for food or drinks list he said they don't have ,I say I see the bar and see all kind of drink so I ask again he realizes we not stupid you can see people eating outside and drinking so if you don't welcome holiday people from where u living by the way why u choose to work if u can't be in...

Terrible. I tried ordering food and they said they couldnt cook it at all because la plancha was full of fish. I would have been happy to wait, but I was told I could only order fish or pizza. I didn't want either. The silliest thing I've ever heard.

Update, I went back to give a second chance, the food was okay but definitely not worth the price. Waiter was nice, but was told I could order half the items...
