Excellent food. Fantastic wine. One of the best evenings of our summer! We decided on the spur of the moment to go out, and we were keen to try El Bistro. No problems getting a table, despite a busy night. The staff were great, efficieny and friendly. Good wine semection; we had brilliant local Jumila. The kids loved their selections. As for our food - incredible. My wife Huevos Rotos was amazing - I had to steal half. For main my wife had the innocuous sounding 'Chicken Thigh' which is a terrible name for an amazing dish. I was deeply unoriginal and had the T-bone Galician style, which appears to mean mist of a cow. Absolutely perfectly cooked. Had this restaurant recommended as we’re vegetarians. The restaurant was empty, we got seated by the toilet. The owner is very abrupt and rude… Due to the lack of vegetarian options, my wife ordered the cauliflower and broccoli meal starter. It was basically boiled broccoli and cauliflower. I ordered the pizza. As they didn’t do a vegan pizza, I asked for a margarita pizza with vegetables. The pizza was terrible. I ate some of the topping only. I have been coming to this restaurant for around 10 years now and the food and service are great. We usually go there for coffee and breakfast but they have a good lunch menu too There is something some everyone - great lattes, healthy avocado on toast, full English breakfast and amazing huevos rotos (broken eggs with potato onion peppers and chorizo) is particularly good There are seats in the sun or shade and a lovely place with fountain to look over…and little sparrows picking up the crumbs.
