I'll temper my review a little as we're sitting in a Spanish square in Menorca under the midday sun (30°) with a moody teenager in tow.
Bar Impera is situated on the corner of an open square, with light traffic running through it, albeit - a lovely square surrounded by historic and characterful architecture. It is conservative in its theme, and sits with two other cafés immediately next to it. It is also very close to the historic area of Cuitadella, and a lot of competition for its custom.
The area outside, and the immediate bar area inside were pleasant, clean, and tidy, despite being quite busy, and there was sufficient staff to meet the needs of the clientele.
We sat at outside tables, surrounded by locals. The waiter was upon us quickly and spoke enough English to take our order sufficiently well, and was very happy to take a change of mind and a late addition to the order.

Read moreClassic menorcan bar /cafe serving a host of tasty snacks and alcoholic drinks , plus a selection of hot and cold drinks . The coffee served here was of a good standard to my taste , but many people were drinking the classic menorcan hot chocolate which looked quite nice .The building is very impressive inside and seating is set inside antique stone arches which keeps cool even on the hottest of days . The decor is antique/rustic and has many architectural features that have been restored sensibly and add to the bar imperi's charm and atmosphere . The imperi has full waiter and waitress service and prices are modest , we had two flutes of cava / Spanish sparkling wine and it was 2.70 Euro's per glass including service . The imperi has outside director style seating ,with sun porches to shade you in the hot sun , or you can sit inside in the cool arches . The imperi has a great location within the town and is not too far from the beautiful harbour , so why not visit I'm sure you will enjoy the imperi bar experience as much as we did . Always a pleasure...
