1.15 pm. I get attracted by the daily menu for 14€ ( 4 starters, a main dish, coffee and dessert). I sit down hoping to have a quick meal before catching a bus at 14h. Order a drink and the menu. 3 other tables are enjoying drinks, so clearly nobody else has ordered lunch yet. 20 minutes later seeing nothing coming I tell the waitress ( sweet by the way) that I have a bus to catch and would rather cancel my order. She insists ‘Ya sale!). Finally at 1445 , the starters arrive, tiny portions that wouldn’t fill the tummy of a 3 year old. I finish them in less than two minutes and ask for the main course and the bill ( my bus stand is a 3 min walk and I don’t want to be caught off guard). At 1355 and 3 “ ya sale!” later, I decide to leave, having paid and without any sight of my of my main course. Does it take 45 minutes to serve a single customer a so-called ‘menu del dia’ which you know customers will be having ? If a customer says he has little time, can’t you clearly say you won’t manage in that time frame so he can cancel if he wants to ? Highly disappointing experience.
Thank you for your answer below. I truly get it and next time will keep that in mind.
However my question below is : why wasn’t I told this when I told the waitress I was in a hurry, especially when I suggested...
Read moreOverall, our experience at this restaurant was quite positive. The food was quite nice. We opted for the day menu, which included a drink each. However, we decided to order one bottle of wine instead of four glasses of wine (which is equal)
To our disappointment, when the bill arrived, we were surprised to see an additional €14 charge for the wine. Apparently, had we ordered individual glasses of wine, it would have been included in the price of the menu. This left us with a bitter aftertaste, as we've been living in Spain for some time now and have never encountered such an approach before.
While we understand that restaurants may have different policies, we can't help but feel a bit let down by this experience. It would have been more transparent if the staff had informed us about the additional charge for the wine when we ordered it. We hope that the restaurant considers being more upfront about such matters in the future.
Despite this issue, we still appreciate the quality of the food and service provided. However, it is essential for restaurants to be clear about their pricing to maintain trust and avoid leaving a negative impression on...
Read moreStrictly about our experience but a be aware of how easily customers can be tricked. Basic menu 9 euros for 5 tapas or premium 14 euros for 4 tapas one entree and desert or coffee. Chose the premium and would have never seen the "fine print" but a couple next to us had the 5 tapas option. Guess what? Their tropical salad was more in a bigger bowl and each of them got a full slice of Spanish omelette while we got half each. Also, the fish filet while good included the whole head but only one side of the fish was present. The customer should be given all information before ordering because these days if dishes appear to be a great price one can expect some kind...
