Well, in order to be honest, I wonder why there are so many 5 stars ratings. I guess, this is mainly, because there are a lot of people here, who rate the marina as a whole place including all the different facilities. My rating here refers only to the marina in regard to yachting from the perspective of a yacht owner, who had his boat in this marina for almost three years. I really can not recommend this place to yacht owners for two reasons. First, if you want to leave your boat there on a long term base, then the marina wants you to sign a seven page contract, which is available in Spanish only. Reading through the votings here, it is obvious that this place has a lot of international guests and it is not a good performance to offer the contract in one language only. Meanwhile, there is a separate English translation available, but the translation is not on the contract itself. So it is still necessary to sign an entire Spanish contract, which is not a safe approach from a legal perspective for international yacht owners, who are unfortunately not fluent in Spanish. I asked one of the receptionists, why the translation has to be sent to international yacht owners separately instead of just sending them one contract to sign for, which is bilingual. The answer was, that this is not possible due to the Spanish law. I really doubt the truth of this answer, because the marina in Valencia offers exactly such a bilingual contract for example, which is moreover clearly shorter than seven pages. The Second thing I have to complain about is the friendliness of the receptionists towards yacht owners. I guess that the majority of the yachties are hard working people or at least people, who are very conscious about their time management. There seems to be a new pride in the marina, because during the last months, I read at the end of virtually every mail "I will be awaiting your prompt answer". This might be reasonable under some very special circumstances, but in the El Portet, you get an ordinary water and electricity invoice and then they are awaiting your prompt answer. My yearly contract expires on the end of February. About 4 weeks ago, the marina wrote to me a mail asking if I want a renewal while "awaiting my prompt answer". I did not answer promptly and received a follow up request almost everyday. Some might argue, that this is not the standard of the marina and their constant pressure to prompt answer might be fueled due to delayed payments on my side. I never delayed a payment. I admit that I refused to sign the yearly contract, which is entirely Spanish, but the marina had no problem doing business with me since almost 3 years, so I assume, this issue here is not about the contract. All the yachts, who you can see in the El Portet, are build to connect people with the ocean. They are made to connect us with the ocean in order to take haste, speed, pressure and grief out of our hearts. To me this is a very liberating thing, which you won´t get, if your yacht is in this marina. Yesterday, I received the last water and electricity bill, which is about 20 Euros. Again, they told me, that they are awaiting my prompt answer. Last night, I wrote back to them, why do they await a prompt answer for sending me a simple electricity and water invoice. So far, I have not received an answer, and for certain, not a prompt...
Read moreBeautiful area full of expensive boats and bars alike. The water is blue beautiful and looks clear. Bars look nice, but some of the staff are a little short and abrupt with you and shout if you feed a bird a nut. Given that Millon pound yachts that Moor here, I suppose the verbal butt kickings go down the line as it were towards the treatment of flying vermin, instead of capitalising on an idea. It's definitely worth a look, especially if you are into trendy spots and hoping to rub shoulders with any rich albeit unlikely. This would easily get a 5, but attitudes do matter in my opinon as at the end of the day, we are paying customers and will just as easily go elsewhere, which...

Videos on Utube. There's also a small circus so very lively at night. Great eating places and excellent music from the 'Sounds' bar. If you want peace and quiet it is not the place to be this...
