La Vecchia Roma — Restaurant in Dénia

I've had huge expectations for this place but left a bit disappointed. The food was good (not amazing), the pasta was amazing (homemade). The place lacked a bit atmosphere- it could do with some quiet music in the background - not Christmas music though (it's still November!). And service is what was the biggest let down for us- we got the wrong starter (which was fine as things like this happen) but we did not feel the replacement was provided quick enough and we did wait a long time for the mains (20min?) while others seem to have had their starters and mains delivered quickly (in fact, a table of 4 came much later than us and had their mains delivered at the same time). We also had to wait for the bill which ended up incorrect (we got charged for the incorrect starter). It seems like the place...

Tortilla de espaguetis a la carbonara! Solemos ir todos los verános varias veces ! Nunca nos ha fallado! Pedimos pizzas para compartir, las cuales están bastante buenas (entre ellas la boloñesa , capricciosa y colesseo), hasta aquí todo bien. No obstante también pedimos dos de pasta carbonara, una con espaguetis y otra con macarrones. La salsa estaba cortada o cuajada(no había salsa eran pelotillas de revuelto o tortilla de espaguetti ), hemos preguntado a un camarero si era así su estilo de carbonara ya que habíamos estado más veces y no la habían sacado así! El chico educadamente nos ha hecho creer que esa era la auténtica carbonara , hemos respetado su forma de trabajar y no hemos dicho nada! Sabemos que la carbonara típica tiene como ingredientes : Papada de Cerdo(guancciale), pecorino romano , yema de huevo y pasta. (LO REMARCO XQ ELLOS DABAN A ENTENDER QUE NOSOTROS QUERIAMOS CON NATA Y NO ES ASI). Han comido uno de los platos porque tenían mucha hambre , pero he probado y no sabía a nada estaban muy secos, y me he dejado el plato entero, a lo que ha pasado el camero y me ha dicho que si no me gustaba que me lo cambiaba, le he dicho que no hacía falta que con que había me apañaba, será llevado el plato amablemente y hemos continuado con las pizzas. A los 15 minutos ha salido al parecer el CHEF "dueño", con una madera y la ha puesto encima de nuestra mesa de manera muy maleducada y prepotente, con una pieza de guancciale , huevos ,una pieza de pecorino y un plato de espaguetti cocinados blancos. NOS HA QUERIDO DAR UNA CLASE MAGISTRAL DE COCINA ITALIANA (delante de todo el restaurante nos hemos muerto de vergüenza) .MUY MALA EDUCACION y además muy mal encage de críticas, hemos pedido la cuenta y nos hemos marchado ya que no nos hemos querido poner a su Nivel. Debería darse unas vacaciones y viajar A Roma para comprobar que por mucho que tenga los ingredientes originales la forma en los que la elabora no es la correcta. Por último, en todo momento hemos hablado con educación y hemos argumentado nuestra crítica. Cuando nos ha sacado la cuenta también nos había cobrado uno de los platos que estaba sin tocar ,faltaba un bocado.Nos da igual el dinero, lo que nos ha disgustado ha sido su malaeducion...

Terrible reception by the restaurant manager. So bad that we decided to eat elsewhere. We were a party of 8 and called in advance to reserve. They do not take reservations, so we arrived early and found available seats indoors and outdoors. The manager insisted that the restaurant policy is that groups of 8 must sit outdoors, which is beside a very transited street. As we were 2 families with 4 small children and did not feel comfortable having small children so close to the street and did not want to eat with the smell of engine fumes, we requested to sit indoors and that we could split the group in 2 groups of 4 to meet the restaurant policy. The manager just insisted that we were to sit outside. No reasons were given, just...
