The service was excellent—truly outstanding—but unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing.
When we were asked how the dishes were, we provided honest feedback in the hope it helps improve things.
One highlight was the “Chinese tacos” (or something similar), which were absolutely delicious. However, the ceviche was a real letdown. As a Peruvian, I make a point of trying ceviche everywhere I go, and this one missed the mark. The leche de tigre had no flavor—it tasted like plain water. The dish was overloaded with cilantro and lacked the classic elements that make a great ceviche, such as choclo, sweet potato, Andean corn, etc.
I understand the desire to be creative and incorporate new twists, but flavor should always be the top priority. This ceviche was unfortunately very plain.
We also tried the crispy Peruvian rolls and I also found it to be quite lacking , just tasted like potatoes. My partner did like them so this can be subjective I guess.
That said, the service was amazing, and I truly hope they can improve this dish...

With Linda Powell This is by no means the first time we have eaten here and the sister restaurant (operating from the same building Ossidia) continues to win award after award throughout Alicante province! Referring only to Dexcaro I must say that this stunning restaurant gets even better every time we visit. Magnificent choice of plates and an excellent wine card! What more could you ask for? Last night we shared, their version of Peking Duck, easily the best ever! Risotto de Indio, where Chef Carlos cleverly substituted Rice for the tiniest lentils ever in a delicious curry- magnificent and far healthier! Finally, we had an excellent plate of Ryoshi ,nearly raw Tuna with the lightest covering of batter you can imagine. My mouth is watering as I write this! If you haven't been, what are you waiting for this is the highest calibre of food in the...
Read moreThe Chef's Tasting Menu is sublime, with a style and delivery that make it part theatre and part gastronomic delight. Starting with an amuse bouche in the main restaurant, you are then whisked into the kitchen for a taste of what's to come and to meet your chefs. Then, it's onto your own private dining room extended from the kitchen area. Of course the food was delicious, but the wine/beer pairings took it the next level. Every course explained by our lovely server or by Carlos, the Chef/Owner himself. His passion for his food is contagious. This has gone straight onto my list of "best tasting menus in Denia" at #1. I am looking forward to going back and taking foodie friends for the experience. Bravo.
PS: The Tasting Menu, with wine pairing, is 110Euro. This felt a bit steep when I made the reservation but it's an absolute bargain once you experience it....
