We've been holidaying in the area on and off for over 10 years and I'm sorry to say it was the worst experience we have had eating out. The restaurant wasn't full but after taking our drinks order it was another 20 minutes before our food order was taken (whilst the staff smoked cigarettes and chatted at the front of house). The speed was similar with other tables. After a further 40 minutes I asked our waitress whether the food prep had been started as we considered paying for the drinks and moving on. I was told it had. The starters did arrive 5 minutes later. At which point the head waitress/manager (I'm not sure which) came to tell us our main courses had been cancelled as requested. We tried to explain that we never requested that, but she was in no mood to negotiate. It was clear she wanted an argument. She attempted to talk over us for a few minutes. When it was clear we wouldn't let her do that she walked off in a huff.
I'm not sure what her problem was or why the service was so slow, but as we tried to explain to her all that needed to happen was for us to have been informed on how long things would take. But unfortunately we saw other tables being given half their meals and then waiting 10 minutes for the remaining meals.
There are many better places to eat within walking distance. We barely got to try the food. It may be excellent. We won't be back to find out. The portion sizes were on the small side and the prices were above average for the area. I've also never seen a restaurant put a €1.5 charge on the menu...
Read moreAfter a long day of travel, I was looking forward to a delicious first meal in Spain, unfortunately that is not what I received during my visit. I ordered a hamburger, but I requested it without any condiments or vegetables. The person who took my order rolled her eyes and sighed at my request and after confirming with me several times, finally allowed me to order just a hamburger patty and a bun.
It took over 40 minutes for my table to get our food and when I received my hamburger it was not plain as I had requested. It had all the toppings, someone else in my group was given my “plain” burger - so we switched it. Unfortunately, it was still not plain as I requested, there was cheese on the hamburger. I ate it because after not eating a full meal in over 24 hours, I was very hungry.
My group also asked the server to split our check and she told us we should have told her ahead of time, but agreed to do it. Then as she was processing the cards she kept making snide comments.
As we left, our server made another unfriendly comment, which after everything else that had happened left us with an overall unpleasant experience.
Positives: The garlic butter for the bread was delicious! The house wine from Alicante was...
Read moreIt's probably one of the worst restaurants, not even about the food. We came here on the weekend, there were few people around, and a strong wind blew, forcing us to hold onto our glasses and plates as they would simply fly away. But it got worse: the waitress, a woman around 40-50 years old, said she had plenty of other customers without us, so she couldn't take our order and we had to wait. When she finally took our order, her expression was very displeased, as if we were supposed to order even more, and she kept repeating 'What about this? What about that?' We asked for sweet wine but were brought dry wine that was tooth-aching. The soup was very plain (more like a broth with cheap pasta), and the salad was tasty, but not worth 12 euros. The wind spilled our wine, but nobody offered to bring a replacement or to move inside the establishment (even though there were few people there).. When we asked her to close the curtain, which was meant to shield us from the wind (and which was quite easy to close), she said she wouldn't do it for us. The bill was far from small. The overall impression was unpleasant. Customer orientation - zero. NOT...
