The evening was ruined for me by the rude way we were received on arriving at the restaurant. I had booked for 7.30, not realising that the restaurant didn’t open until 7.30 we arrived at 7.15 and were essentially told ‘we’re not open’ and backed out of the restaurant. Only after the fact did one of the other staff suggest we go to the wine bar downstairs (which is part of the restaurant) for a quick drink before dinner. It might be argued that it was a cultural/language miscommunication but it seems good hospitality to say ‘I’m sorry we aren’t open for seating guests until 7.30, can I suggest you pop downstairs to our wine bar for a pre-dinner drink’. That being said, the main waiter downstairs at the wine bar was extremely unwelcoming and rude too. The food was ok - nothing to write home about. Table service was ok once we were seated. Overall, I wouldn’t return to this restaurant.
