The evening was ruined for me by the rude way we were received on arriving at the restaurant. I had booked for 7.30, not realising that the restaurant didn’t open until 7.30 we arrived at 7.15 and were essentially told ‘we’re not open’ and backed out of the restaurant. Only after the fact did one of the other staff suggest we go to the wine bar downstairs (which is part of the restaurant) for a quick drink before dinner. It might be argued that it was a cultural/language miscommunication but it seems good hospitality to say ‘I’m sorry we aren’t open for seating guests until 7.30, can I suggest you pop downstairs to our wine bar for a pre-dinner drink’. That being said, the main waiter downstairs at the wine bar was extremely unwelcoming and rude too. The food was ok - nothing to write home about. Table service was ok once we were seated. Service was frustratingly very slow, although in fairness the servers were always polite.. it could have been that the kitchen were understaffed, because there appeared to be sufficient waiting staff. An hour to wait for starters and then another hour and 10 mins for mains to arrive. So overall not very good . Guests commented that they would not have wanted to have been there on a busy service of a Friday or Saturday evening . I had visited on two previous occasions , both lunchtimes, where there was a lovely lady( manageress) in control and service was slick and professional.. this time something was amiss… no apology or explanation for the food...

The menu is unique -- unfussy dishes, but you can tell they are made with a lot of skill and love. From the starters, I can highly recommend the Courgette, beetroot and feta fritters, and also the pickled razor clams, and I loved the Iberian pork cheeks, sweet potato and orange blossom as a main. Great wine list as well, with lots of really nice local wines to discover. For something casual, the tapas downstairs at Moll de Sa Punta are equally as tasty -- the Rilletes de sardina was amazing, and the Cremoso de queso de Mahon with tomato marmalade was...
