This place came highly recommended, but don't always believe what you hear. Went the evening before but no taken to a table as very busy and all the staff with heads down and no eye contact, we sat at a vacant table but after 15 minutes decided to try another night. So we went back the following night nice and early 6 o'clock but the weather was a bit blowy outside so decided to eat indoors. The waitress was hospitable, so I decided to have a cocktail, but the choice was very limited, and my choice was not available (long island iced tea), so just a bottle of cider instead 😐. The steak is cooked over a wood stove, so it gave a lovely flavour but only offered a jacket potato (would have preferred chips), and I also ordered a pepper sauce. The sauce was OK, but only warm and very meagre portion also only received 3 potatoes 🤨 What really let it down though was the flies 🪰 all over the mirrors and tables where we sat (dead and alive) this wasn't helped by the plate cleaning trolley which is positioned right near the tables. We had a lovely pudding 🍮 and the price was no extravagant but I'm sorry I would not recommend as I have over 25 years in the industry they can do better...even a smile from the staff would...
Read moreBest steak I've had that I haven't cooked myself, all meats cooked on a coal fired grill, small inside but plenty of seating outside (if it's not raining). It's a cosy little restaurant, which is just how I like it, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We went for the garlic bread with cheese and menorcan spicy sausage on toast with honey for starters (I'll be trying to replicate spicy sausage on toast with honey when back in the UK) and we both opted for the matured steak which was cooked to perfection, I never eat the salad or vegetables when back home ..... I ate the vegetables here. They were that good. I had a 1/2 jug of sangria based on the reviews from another customer, and they weren't wrong it was beautiful (if I hadn't gotten absolutely hammered 2 nights earlier from a few jugs of it at another bar I might of been allowed to get another jug). I wish I had discovered this place at the beginning of the week as I would...
Read moreWe arrived and we were seated more or less immediately. The decor in there is fresh and nice. We sat outside roof level looking out and the views are SPECTACULAR looking out onto the water. I had deep fried calamari and it’s probably one of the best deep fried calamari’s I had. As my expectations weren’t high I had already chosen bolognaise for main. My partner ordered a wagyu burger. The standard and quality of both meals was incredible! We also had a dessert but we were quite full. So what we chose was one scoop of ice cream - again that blew our minds because the presentation and amount for that ice cream was outstanding. I highly recommend the place! Even though it’s called a cafe - the standard is...
