We visited this restaurant because it looked cozy, with a man preparing pizza live behind the counter. We came specifically to try the pizza.
After placing our order, the waitress brought us a piece of bread with chopped tomatoes within a minute. Since it looked like a small amuse-bouche or a complimentary starter (as is common in many Italian restaurants), and she didn’t say a word, we assumed it was a welcome appetizer from the kitchen. So, we ate it.
A few minutes later, the same waitress returned and casually said she had delivered the dish to the wrong table by mistake. She smiled, said “sorry” to the other table, and left.
Later, without asking, they brought us a basket of bread, which we also didn’t order.
At the end of the meal, the same waitress brought us the bill – and to our surprise, it included €19 for the tomato bread that was never meant for us, and €5 for the bread basket we didn’t request.
To make matters worse, they also added a 10% tip to the bill without asking for our consent – something that’s not standard practice in Spain.
We didn’t make a scene, but we left with a very unpleasant impression. We came for the pizza, which turned out to be very average, and the overall experience left a bad taste – not because of the food itself, but because of how everything around it was handled.
Unfortunately, this place feels more like a classic tourist scam than an authentic Italian restaurant. We definitely won’t...
Read moreThis is a great place in Estepona. Everything, from the magical corner location in old Estepona, the cozy outdoor seating to the refreshing green decor makes the restaurant welcoming and a great place to enjoy a meal with your family.
We have been here several times and definitely book you an outdoor table if possible to make your experience superb.
Food is great. Our kids love their pesto and carbonara. I think the pesto is a little heavy but tasty. I love their risotto. Their pizza is amazing as well. I also love their Caesar salad with bacon.
Although they don’t have a kids menu, you can get all their pasta dishes in half portions for kids which is even better than a kids menu!
Staff is fantastic. Very attentive, kind and on top of service, making sure you are not in need of anything. We in particularly like a server named Asko, who is always kind and always engages with our family.
The only reason why I’m giving the restaurant four stars is because of the manager. We never really connected. He seems very selective to get you a table if you don’t have a reservation and just walk-in, even in a slow day with plenty of tables.
While seating outdoors with my family, we also witnessed how the manager got so upset that got into the side kitchen area and was screaming to his staff to the point that made us...
Read moreThe tarantella is a very famous restaurant in Estepona and it is renowned for its Italian food and cozy atmosphere.
Situated in the very heart of Estepona old town, this beautifully decorated restaurant has a huge variety of Italian dishes such as: lasagna, pizza, pasta, tiramisu, risotto and a long etcetera, basically all the food in there is simply delicious. We also have to mention its friendly staff who without any doubt will offer you the best of the treatment.
This restaurant is always busy because it is very popular so my piece of advice to book in advance to make sure that you have a table. If you have a voracious appetite this is the right place for you, because they usually serve big quantities on the dishes.
My ideal meal consists of some starters that are served without ordering them so you have something to nibble in the meantime the main courses are prepared. So my main course would be a ham and cheese pizza and then after that I strongly recommend the Nutella pizza as a dessert.
And last but not least the prices are affordable and sensible this is just the icing of the cake for this popular restaurant which surely will give you more than one reason to go again.
