Lovely indoor restaurant with lots of options and set price menus. For starters we had the prawn pil pil, now unfortunately we were a little let down with this, whilst it was tasty it wasn't traditional garlic pil pil it tasted more like curry in a thick paste. It was enjoyable none the less but not what we expected. For mains I had the seafood pasta which was delicious and my partner had the sea food pizza which he enjoyed however it was mostly tuna and really lacking in other seafood which made me think they had done that to perhaps save money. I requested a small garlic bread for my one year old which we were charged 6 euros for which seemed a little steep as it was just sliced bread with some garlic oil drizzled on, happy none the less that she was well accommodated for. We were brought the rosemary breadsticks and charged for them too which is fine but we only ate one packet and the other 2 were taken away when we could have saved them for our daughter. The service, however, is exemplary, staff are so friendly and attentive, hence my 4 star review. I would visit again, just feel a few tweaks are needed...
Read moreI bet this place gets loads of 5 star reviews. I have not checked, but I assume so... Ok, so this place is really pretentious, epically. Waiters that are slightly impatient, or they were with us and we could see other tables getting the same treatment. There is a cover charge.... Seriously??? A cover charge, it's not that good. Had I known this fact alone, It would have made me go elsewhere. There are lots of other restaurants. All serving good food, with no pretentiousness or cover charge. I had the rack of lamb for €28... It was 3 small chunks of lamb with 2 ribs in each, the gratin dauphinois was dry and potatoie, not creamy and rich as I would expect. The vedge was overcooked and wilting. Not what I would expect from a pretentious Italian, with a cover charge. The sangria was very average and again not as good as other local places. The pizzas the family had were perfectly good. No issues with them. All in all, not worth a compulsory booking, cover charge or good to average food. There are so many food places,...
Read moreFor a run of the mill roadside italian restaurant, this place is way better than it has any right to be. The food exceeded our expectations and all 6 of us walked out well fed and happy with our choices. Everything was perfectly cooked, well balanced in flavours and portions.
There are faults to be found if you're looking for them, but for the price you cannot go wrong.
We were served breadsticks with mayo for the table while waiting for our dishes. This would've been a nice complimentary touch but turned out to be a sneaky way to drive up the bill a little more as an additional €5 was charged for them - certainly put a damper on our overall experience.
We opted for individual dishes rather than the set menus - but said offerings also seemed an absolute bargain for 3 courses of delicious...
