Indian Chef — Restaurant in Figueres

Absolutely shocking. There is no way that I would describe this place as a genuine high quality Indian restaurant. The poppadoms are mass produced and are exactly the same as the dreadful ones you buy wrapped in plastic in a supermarket. The sauces are straight out of a catering bottle. The Biriani was precooked rice with frozen bulk mixed vegetables, the samosa was precooked from a catering pack. We watched them do this. Almost nothing was edible and returned uneaten. Over-priced. In 30 years + of eating chicken tikka masala, this was one of the weakest I ever tried. Little chicken (not actually tikkas) in a fairly bland buttery soup of tomato. The nan was good. The butter chicken expensive but more authentic. The spinach dish (claiming to be from the garden) was bland and obviously from a tin, the paneer felt like tofu. Very nice and authentic restaurant in the hart of Figueras . We came here for the first time, it is not easy to find a good Indian kitchen in the Costa Brava but here it is !! Great food, good service and the owner is a really nice guy who helps you out with the menu. He is also busy with humanitarian actions which involves children’s help .
