Well this is a Chiringuito but not as you know it! As with all Chiringuitos, it is on the beach but that is where the commonality stops.
The building has been renovated and is very stylish. The staff are attentive, and there are plenty of them, so you don't have to wait for long for service. They are all cheerful, polite, and incredibly helpful. We were there on Spanish Mothers Day and they were packed, but we were never left wondering about service. 10/10
The food is amazing. Whilst we were browsing the menu, we could see all sorts of wonderful looking plates going past us, which made us even hungrier!
I never fully trust a place that has photos of their food on their menu, but this place should add photos because plates are works of art. They are so beautifully presented that it would make selection much easier.
The description of the dishes are very accurate even the English translation, but it leaves you wondering how would they make that?! Well, don't worry, they can.
We made the mistake of ordering 2 starters to share, and the portions were huge even between 4 of us. They were nice, but I was very much looking forward to my desert (those who know me, know desert is important!). It meant there was no room left after the starter and main course. Never mind, we will have to go back.
The main course we ordered hake with stuffing, pork fillet with bacon and cheese with caramelised onions and mango (I know you are wondering what?!!), prawn with stir fried vegetables and quinoa, and finally for my wife that is on very strict diet who ordered grilled sole.
Well, they were all cooked to perfection (not overcooked, or undercooked, which is not easy when you have so many covers. We know we ran a hotel for 10 years). Presentation was top draw and easily competes with what you see on TV cooking programmes.
All this at a reasonable price (40€ per person including drinks). We will be back as we want to try the deserts next time, so watch this space.
All this whilst sitting in a place full of buzz (not noise or loud music, but people having fun), overlooking the beach and the sea. You can't ask for more.
Well done chef and well done all the staff. 10 out of 10 does not justify the experience.
Must visit place if you are in Fuengirola and want Marbella style and...
Read moreI have never dealt with ruder waiting staff. I was met with grumpy miserable faces all night. We were given poor quality not fresh bread to start while other tables were given fresh ones. We were being constantly ignored when looking for things. Shoved into a table of 4 for a group of 5. For the food at this price and a service charge it was not acceptable. One runner however was lovely but every other member of staff was just straight out rude. When we asked for a bill they stood over us and expected to pay instantly instead of giving people a second to sort who’s paying etc. We ended up paying over 180€ but did not even get a simple thank you or enjoy your evening. If there is a 10% service charge there should be an actual customer service being given. The food was very good but we were left with a sour taste in our mouth wondering why the staff was so rude. It is not worth your money and strongly encourage you to go elsewhere given the...
Read moreA lovely place and when costed was full yet able to get a table after a short wait.
The menu was no different from other restaurants in the area. Decided to order something not expected I would say judging by the change of face of the waiter. It was chicken and chips. I also had a glass of white wine. I had to edit my review as it was first given prior to the bill. Couldn’t believe my eyes. A charge for cutlery and table cloth.
Food: 7.5/10 Service: 5.5/10 Efficiency: 8.5/10 Cleanliness: 8.5/10 Pricing: 4/10 Menu Selection: 6/10 Overall: 5/10
Recommend: I couldn’t recommend mainly for the charge on the receipt for the use of cutlery and the table cloth. Is this really what changes are happening.
Will I return: Yes I will and will have something to ask before going in with regards to the unknown charge. Really there should be a notice for this...
