Had a very nice meal today. The food was excellent. Staff weren't the most friendly and some thing's not very organized. We were on the beach and entered through the beach entrance. There was no sign telling us to check with reception desk for seating so we took a table for two along the beach side. The waitress was annoyed the hostess didn't seat us and the hostess even more annoyed. Not our fault we didn't know and there was nothing to tell us it wasn't open seating. We wanted Tapas but were told we couldn't have tapas at that table although last week my friend had tapas at another table in the same seating area. Then they wanted to relocate us inside to a table for tapas but it was a terrible table around the corner in a little alcove. The restaurant is really noisey so we decided to go back outside to the first table and order off the menu. My friend who speaks Spanish went to tell the hostess we were going back outside because it was too noisy inside. The staff seemed even more annoyed. If the food wasn't so good we wouldn't go back. If they don't want people coming in from the beach they should close that entrance and direct people to the front door, or put up a sign to instruct us to check with the reception. We didn't know, nothing told us and staff were unpleasant about it . I don't speak much Spanish, my friend is fluent and we both live here permanently. Will try it again and see how the staff are but one recommendation is avoid it when its busy as its...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences I have ever had was at Boracay Beach Garrucha.
I was in a group of 10 people who sat down for lunch. We were served by a waitress who was rude, abrupt and didn't have any regard for genuine customer service. She was not interested in giving us recommendations. She said she would only give us 2 minutes to decide what to drink or eat within 10 minutes of us arriving. Who on earth serves a table and gives them a time-limit to decide?! I would have understood if she gave us recommendations on what to eat or drink but she instead was a blocker to anything we asked. I have never experienced anything like it before.
We ordered tapas a round of fried potatoes, some prawns and a spanish omlette. Every single item was cold and devoid of taste. It was absolutely disgusting- both the service and the food. We asked for the bill and quickly booked a table at El Jardin de la Paella- a short stroll from this dreadful excuse for a bar/ restaurant. In contrary to Boracay, El Jardin de la Paella were extremely welcoming, were warm and cooked food from fresh. It is a family run restaurant with everything you want from service to food- with freshly prepared paella and fresh grilled fish being cooked in an open air grill from a makeshift boat. We had a group of vegetarians and they happily accomodated. Go there if you want an authentic relaxed lunch or dinner. I wouldn't bother with Boracay-...
Read moreWe went to my favourite restaurant last night . There was 6 People in our group and we was very disappointed with the service and the food generally
3 of the party were fluent in Spanish so no issues with communication yet the service from the female waitress was disgusting.
Served food on cold plates with no smile all evening
She then Took away the paella away whilst it still had food in it because they need med the paella dish for another table. No offer to box it up to take away
She cleared the table whilst 2 of the family were still eating then she Dumped six small sorbets on the table without saying a word and walked off
We paid the bill on the card she did not offer a copy , she didn’t say thank you and she just walked off . Probably the worst service I have ever experienced in Spain in 22 years
The food was average , paella cost 44€ for one small plate of rice for 3 people and was not great
The starters were a tropical salad which was amazing , The rejos was cold and did not have batter on them and the calmari was nice but not hot
The pork fillet was amazing, the lamb was good and the fish was poor
They even charged 1,50€ for a table spoon of ali olí to go with the bread which was 1,50€ each for a small bread roll Which was Cold
We...
