Chiringuito El Espigón — Restaurant in Garrucha

We’ve been coming to this amazing restaurant for at least ten years. We describe it as the best fish restaurant in the world! And it is - for food. However we went there today for lunch and for the second time came across a Male Spanish waiter. In our best Spanglish we asked what time food was being served. The response she was yes. Look at the menu. We asked for Clara ( shandy) and got beer. We then waited... and waited... and waited.... and whilst Spaniards had their table laid, orders taken, we were plainly ignored. Eventually we gave up and paid for our beer and left, totally gutted. We love this place, but it’s the second time we have experienced this treatment ( from the same guy) the last time being a year ago ( it’s only open in the summer ). We will go back as it’s such a special experience, but we did feel that this was an anti-English attitude ( by this one person). I live in hope that the owner reads this and instructs his staff to treat...

La ecuación de valor no me funciona. Mariscos seriamente caros en relación con el mercado para la mayoría de los artículos. Las sardinas y la lubina parecían ser las de mejor relación calidad-precio. Precios para turistas para todo lo demás. La mitad de las sardinas no estaban bien cocidas. La lubina estaba muy buena. El personal fue muy agradable y gentilmente atendió nuestra solicitud de cambiarnos a una mesa exterior que acababa de desocuparse. La clientela era mayoritariamente española, pero el camarero español al que se hace referencia en otra reseña no estaba presente. Todas las mujeres fueron muy amables. Los dos platos principales llegaron en diferentes momentos. Las sardinas llegaron primero y luego tuve que preguntar por la lubina después de unos minutos y llegó rápidamente. Volvería, pero no estaría entre mis 5 lugares favoritos para ir en la zona.

Value equation doesn't work for me. Seriously overpriced seafood relative to the market for most items . The sardines and Lubina seemed to be the best value. Tourist prices for everything else. Half the sardines were not thoroughly cooked. The Lubina was very nice. Staff was very pleasant and graciously accommodated our request to move to an outside table that had just vacated. Clientele was mostly Spanish but the Spanish male waiter referenced in another review wasn't present. All the ladies were very nice. The two entrees came out at different times. Sardines came first then had to ask about the Lubina after a few minutes and it arrived quickly. I'd go again but it wouldn't be in my top 5 places to go...

Fuimos el año pasado con la familia (nosotros vivimos aquí,la familia venía de visita)nos sentamos en la mesa que quisimos, eso sí,sin colas ni esperas,pedimos de beber y nos lo sirvieron bien y rápido,pero cuando vimos la carta,con cuatro platos contados ,nos lo pensamos un poco , además los precios me parecían desorbitados viendo los platos que servían el las otras mesas....No tienen menú infantil,les pedimos que le hicieran al niño una tortilla y unas patatas fritas y nos dijeron que solo hacían lo que venía en la carta.Por supuesto,nos bebimos la cerveza, pagamos y nos fuimos.Decidimos ir al boracai y menos mal.Y este año,pasando una tarde en la playa,quise hacer uso del baño(público hasta las 20:00 de la tarde , después son los del restaurante los que se encargan del cuidado y mantenimiento del baño) y salía de él una empleada del bar que no me quiso dar la llave para entrar en él porque no era cliente (algo que por cierto está prohibido por ley aunque tengas derecho de admisión en el bar)Pude usar el baño gracias a una clienta que me dejó las llaves y cuando volví a entregarlas a la encargada,me dijo que yo no podía entrar en bañador (que estaba seco,por cierto)y que los baños eran exclusivos de los clientes.Vuelvo a recalcar que ningún bar, chiringuito o restaurante,te puede negar el uso del baño,es ilegal.Por tanto,el trato de la encargada (dueña,como ella misma me...
