As a Mexican living in Canada, I couldn’t resist the allure of authentic Mexican cuisine during my visit to Girona, Spain. My desire for a taste of home away from home led me to an exceptional gem of a restaurant tucked away in this beautiful Spanish city.
From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm and genuine Mexican feel that instantly made me feel like I was back in Mexico. Jay and Joe are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service. They not only made us feel welcomed but also took the time to explain the menu, recommend their specialties, and answer any questions I had about the dishes.
My favourite were the chilaquiles. The chilaquiles at this restaurant were nothing short of exceptional. The tortilla chips were perfectly crispy, the salsa had just the right balance of deep flavour of peppers and piquant, and the toppings were fresh and generous. It was a nostalgic taste of home.
Now, let’s talk about the desserts. It’s rare to find Mexican desserts as authentic and perfectly chosen as the ones I enjoyed here. The tequila sorbet was the perfect mix between refreshing and sweet. Another must try is the churros. These were crispy, golden perfection.
In summary, this authentic Mexican restaurant in Girona, Spain, is a must try for anyone craving the flavours of Mexico while exploring the beauty of Girona. The exceptional customer service, mouthwatering desserts, and unforgettable chilaquiles make it a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of...
Read moreWe were convinced to visit this restaurant by other Google reviews rating this place incredibly highly, but either the other reviewers haven't had very good Mexican food before, or they were rating it based on something else because the food whilst nice was pretty mediocre in our opinion. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the food just didn't hit the mark. Also the dishes are based around platters of tacos each with side dishes of salad, refried beans and rice and whilst this might be how some like to enjoy their Mexican food, it seemed cumbersome and inauthentic, I would much prefer to order my carnitas and other tacos and have my sides separately. The tacos were a mixed bag with some being too dry for us to enjoy and others really hitting the mark for flavour and juiciness.
Overall, I think this restaurant will do very well in time and has the opportunity to excel in the future and because the staff were so nice I...
Read moreWas very pleased to take a 30 minute walk to Tacos Mx after reading reviews.. noticed some happy customers outside sitting at tables with good looking food and drink. Was anxious for some good Mexican food as I am from Arizona USA, which has everyone knows is bordered with Mexico. After looking the menu over, I was having a difficult time deciding what to have. I finally settled on the Chiliquiles as I heard from some other reviews that these were delicious. About 10 minutes later, my plate of Chilaquiles came out. After after a few bites, it became clear that these were indeed special a great balance of flavors a nice amount of Pollo and I love the roasted red chili that accompanied the dish.. anyway I pretty much inhaled. These delicious Chilaquiles. Unfortunately I was to leave Gerona the following day. Otherwise I definitely would’ve came back one more time. great to see such commitment to great food, very...
