La Maka, Taberna Mediterránea en Guardamar — Restaurant in Guardamar del Segura

So this is a pleasant place but always seems a bit lacking in customers. Good reviews of food so we gave it a go. First let me say the food was top class. Less good is getting to eat it. I'm not 25 so had completely missed the fact that it was a QR code only menu, it never occurs to me. Why though, just print the card! Then its confusing maybe because I don't speak Spanish? Anyway to get the full menu you need to download 3 or 4 different things and it's not obvious then how it all works. Is the daily menu served in the evening? How do the dishes relate to each other? Starters cost nearly as much as mains, and what's pica pica? Then finger food? Is it supposed to be like Tapas & if it is why not call it Tapas. I have no answers to these questions but we muddled through in the end. Service was relaxed and unhurried, but we're on holiday so fine. Second, after 30 minutes of waiting, a waitress came who was unable to take my order when I was pointing at menu items. She said that an English-speaking colleague would be fine now. Para empezar reservé dentro porque pregunté si había A\C y dijeron que si. Al llegar había 2 personas comiendo dentro sin A/C y tuve que pedir que me cambiarán para fuera. Mi primer error fue ir un miércoles. Pero lo hice para evitarme los gritos de la gente que va los fines de semana. Está clarísimo que al ser un día entre semana, la comida no es del día. Así fue. Empecemos: 1) Tomate, alioli y pan. El tomate era agua sin aliñar (sin aceite ni sal) 2) Zamburiñas congeladas y al microondas con una salsa Dijon/ Miel (muy malas) 3) Ensaladilla Maka estaba tibia, lo que le daba un sabor extraño, además un total sinsentido, una mezcolanza de patatas con mayonesa, chips de yuca y batata y huevo con alguna conserva de pescado (desastrosa) 4) Croquetas de chipirones en su tinta congeladas y al microondas 5) Un Filete súper pequeño de Dorada muy salado con 3 tristes patatas 6) Gyosas de langostinos o gambas (lo único decente junto con el pan) 7) Las Cañas no estaban frías. 8) EL ARROZ CON 🦀 lo peor del mundo. Cangrejo era PLÁSTICO y el arroz AMARGO, totalmente incomible, lo tuvimos que Devolver.....Se les quemó el pimiento y eso sabe muy mal. Les hicimos saber que estaba con muy mal sabor e imposible de comer, así que nos dieron una ración de Gyosas en compensación. 9) Postre: Una piña en trozos y tarta de Santiago de caja. CONCLUSIÓN: LA CALIDAD HA BAJADO muchos niveles y los PRECIOS HAN SUBIDO UNA BARBARIDAD. Una pena, porque está ubicado en un lugar peatonal frente a un parque muy agradable, y una vez probamos las croquetas de camarones 🍤 y un arroz a banda muy bueno. Lo de hoy fue una experiencia terrible, más cuando era para agasajar a nuestro hijo por su reciente paternidad! Me dio mucha vergüenza con él. SOLO para turismo en masa. NO VUELVO...
