La Cañada – Quality Spanish Dining in the Heart of Guardamar
La Cañada sits just behind Sophia’s Park and has always caught our eye – we’ve often stopped for drinks and admired the well-presented dishes coming out, from classic paella and squid to burgers, tapas, and fresh salads. We’ve now eaten there a few times, and it really delivers on quality.
Most recently, we enjoyed the small burrata salad although for 16€ it felt well over priced for what it was. I had the entrecôte steak – incredibly tasty, full of that rich, grass-fed flavour. It was cooked a bit more than I’d prefer, and they didn’t ask how I wanted it, but the flavour was so good it didn’t matter. My wife had the solomillo (fillet steak), which was beautifully done, just a little on the salty side – still very enjoyable.
The sides were excellent – the potatoes were spot-on and the padrón peppers were full of flavour. Our daughter loved her chicken and Brie burger, and our other daughter had a lovely Bolognese.

The 4th member of our group had a burger with chips only. Which looked to be the better option. Although the chips were cold. The restaurant it self looked nice, which is what attracted us to it. Although we had to sit outside. Due to a so called private party. We complained when the waiter came over to us to ask if all was ok. He did not seem too bothered and walked away not even clearing our table. So we got the...
