Bar Palenke — Restaurant in Haría

Yesterday we had the mixed grill seafood, which was really good and today the mixed grill meat. Again very well prepared. Enjoyed it a lot!!! The staff is super friendly and make you feel welcome. If I lived here I’d be a regular. The clientele is a nice mix of local regulars and tourists. During the day a hangout for a drink or a tapas. With a pool table, bingo machine and big tv screen. Around lunch and dinner it is a proper restaurant with a typical local menu. My food was horrible, fried fillet of fish.. turned out frozen fish and fried to the texture of eating rubber, canarian potatoes ‘not’ they were tinned potatoes, and accompanied by warm cheap bits of salad, mostly white cabbage. Pizza all cheap cheese and minuscule topping! Realised after we ordered its cash only (is this legal?) but this is ‘ok’ says the waiter no problem you can get cash from the supermarket! So take a walk to the supermarket, no cash machine, try to make shop assistant understand, she calls someone else over and basically its cash back for 1 euro commission! Not worth it...

Both first impression of the minimalistic interior and the name including "BAR" may be deceiving, as (taking into account our previous experience on Lanzarote) we were positively suprised by friendly service, prices, size and quality of the dishes.

Watch out for the "min 2 personas" as we barely managed to win against both meat and paella plates with four people present.
