It's not often I give a 1 star review. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come, who pretended to not speak English. Meanwhile Spaniards arrived after us were served before sitting down and left before we had our food. After ordering the bread came immediately after, then about 45 to 55 minutes wait. We asked for a green salad, ensalada Verde. What arrived was a Tuna dish with chips. I know enough "restaurant Spanish" to get by, being fluent in 3 other languages. We didn't touch the Tuna dish, ate chips and bread, paid quickly because we couldn't wait to get out of there. Finally at the till the flummoxed woman, who's sole job is to stand at the till, forgot to charge the card machine and the battery ran out mid transaction for us. My patience still on tact, I could no longer laugh anymore whilst I've run out of stars to strike off for this review. 1 star could be given (although I can't give a zero score) for the bread which wasn't bad. It certainly wasn't cooked in house, that much is obvious, probably bought from the local supermarket. Plastic chairs, shiny vinyl table cloth, paper napkins that blow away, I was surprised to not receive plastic knives and forks too. The prices of the main courses would suggest silver service. The question remains, would I send my worst...
Read moreThree of us went here on a weekday afternoon, having never been before. The restaurant was full (we had to wait for a table) and more than half were Spainiards, so we figured it must be good. Walked in and asked for a menu and was rudely told it is on the board outside. We ordered two pints and they brought us Tropical in bottles. For the second round, I went inside to order it as the waiter (the owner) never returned to our table. He then rudely told me he would bring it to our table. Two of us decided on the fish of the day, thinking it would be fresh. It was not. It was clearly frozen as half of the fish was mushy. The small handful of fries on the plate were cold. When we complained, the waiter just smirked and muttered something in Spanish (an insult?). Walked away. Ten minutes later, he returned with a small plate of fries that were hot. One of us ordered Octopus and that was a generous portion and cooked well. The only highlight. On the way out, the waiter smirked and said sorry amigo, but it was not genuine. Never will return...
Read moreI rarely write reviews, but honestly felt the need to warn others not to bother eating here as there as so many surprisingly positive reviews for this place. Fairly bleak concrete atmosphere with disturbingly loud music, although this would’ve been tolerable had the food been decent. The food was, however, depressing to say the least. The ‘house salad’ consisted of one raw, roughly chopped onion, one tomato, canned sweetcorn, canned olives, some low-quality cheese and a few limp salad leaves, all of this without even a dressing to save it. The ‘seafood’ paella was dry and tasteless, with only two small miserable-looking shrimps and two mussels, one of which was empty. The single calamari ring placed on top did nothing to improve the dish. Only positive thing to say was that the service was quick and polite. Really, seriously, would...
