Plaza Mexico — Restaurant in l'Alfàs del Pi

Never again!!! My husband picked the restaurant for his birthday so I made a reservation a month ago for a nice table to celebrate because we had been there before and enjoyed it very much… this time it was horrible. We were greeted by an extremely rude hostess which tried to put us at the worst table possible even though I requested a nice table. The margaritas were not nearly as good as last time. I ordered the nachos for dinner and my husband a burrito. They brought the nachos out before my husband’s meal. They became cold. My husband’s meal arrived and they brought him fajitas instead of what he ordered. They took both back to the kitchen and remade them correctly. The burrito was filled with rice and barely any chicken. My nachos were cold. When they brought the bill they charged us for a sauce we didn’t order. When we brought it to the waiter’s attention he didn’t care and said we had to pay for it. Needless to say what was one of our favorite places now is not and what was supposed to be a nice birthday celebration turned into a disaster…my husbands birthday was ruined and we paid for something we didn’t order or eat. I will not recommend this place anymore to my friends…. Truly disappointing...

Plaza México in Albir is an absolute gem when it comes to authentic Mexican cuisine! My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience there, and the food was nothing short of a culinary journey to Mexico. The guacamole and nachos were delightful starters, with the guacamole being fresh and creamy, just as it should be. The nachos were crisp and flavorful, perfect for kicking off the meal.

The highlight of our visit was the incredible burritos. They were generously stuffed with delicious ingredients and flavors. The meat was juicy, and the various salsas, spices, and vegetables complemented each other perfectly. I’ve never had a better burrito anywhere!

The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere at Plaza México was pleasant and relaxed. All in all, I would give Plaza México in Albir 5 stars for its outstanding food, accommodating service, and the authentic Mexican ambiance. We have enjoyed exploring the area but really wanted to find a good Mexican spot. We are so happy we found this beautiful and delicious restaurant.

I’m glad we ordered the Guacamole appetizer as the tacos don’t come with any side items. We would have wanted something a bit more. Also, this has been the best guacamole I’ve had in Europe over the past 15 years. The only negative is that they don’t give you enough chips and charge you for more.

As for the tacos, we had the shrimp Sinaloa and pork Al pastor. Both were perfect. The salsa with the Al pastor has some major kick!

2024 update: we are now weekly regulars here. Discovered the Chicken Tortilla soup this winter and it is amazing. Will warm you up with just the right amount of kick. Plus, I love the avocado and cream in it.
