An over zealous waiter pushed us to go for the mixed platters, as we had a vegan we asked for 1 meat and one vegetarian one, we ended up with 4 bits of meat to share between 7, the popodoms were 1 euro each adding 16 euros to our bill.. the main course was lovely except one of us had the dal vegetable as a main and had to add salt as it was rather bland, and they forgot another so we had all pretty much finished eating before she got her main. They also broght up mains with no rice or rice with no mains rather than make sure everyones main came with their rice as we had all ordered different rice dishes. The stuffed mushrooms were awful. They deducted the cost of the mushrooms and reduced the cost of one of the mixed platters and brought out a mixed kulfie ice cream platter for the birthday girl. I would go back but not in a large group as they dont handle large groups well and I would give the mixed starters, and stuffed mushrooms a miss. I also think that you should be pre warned that they are charging for poppadoms as they are offered to you giving the impression they are complimentary. It is a very sneaky way to add to a bill especially with a large party. We were also seated outside and it was obvious we were cold and they should have offered to move us inside as they...
Read moreI have been trying out various curry houses in and around Gibraltar. Let me state that I loved this place, has a UK trained chef and it shows. This so far the best curry I have had in 3 years. We had a selection of vegetarian and meat dishes. I was assured that the paneer tikka was excellent by our vegetarian member ask for it, not sure its on the menu. In common with most curry houses here the food is served very bland unless you ask for it. We asked for madras strength, I am sure they can do hotter of you want. Naan breads are thin and crispy, not the half inch slabs you get in Gib. There are excellent curry houses where you can get thin naans in Gib I am generalizing. Dhal tarka in my opinion is still best at the flame grill in watergardens. The food had non of the excess sweetness you commonly find where chefs cannot resist putting cane sugar in the dish. No No No!If you want your dishes like that buy a can of rice pudding. Well...
Read moreI visited this wonderful restaurant with a friend from Poland and I must say that it was a real feast for the senses! Each dish delighted with its taste, and the atmosphere of this place simply cannot be described - a real trip to India. The biggest discovery of the evening was butter chicken - this dish was absolutely the best I have ever eaten in my life! Delicate pieces of chicken in a creamy, aromatic masala sauce melted in your mouth, and the combination of spices was perfect - not too spicy, but full of depth of flavour. Also noteworthy is the naan, which was light, fluffy and perfectly combined with the sauce - the whole thing is perfect! The staff was very friendly and the interior design made us feel like we were in the heart of India. We will certainly come back here more than once - it was one of the best culinary...
