I've had a few take aways from bamboo and although it's never been great, the daily menu is very good value for money and an easy option for a lazy, hassle free meal. So all OK until that unfortunate last Sunday evening. We got our boxes about 7pm and by 8 dinner finished. About 10pm I asked husband if his sat right because my definitely didn't. About midnight I suddenly feel very cold, put on pyjama and woolen socks and start shivering under the duvet. I must have fallen asleep because at 2am I wake up hot and sweating with a very sudden urge to vomit. And then the fun really started. Spent at least 15 minutes hugging the toilet wondering did I really eat that much. Anyway, I felt somewhat better, had a quick shower, brushed my teeth and went back to bed. About 4.30am the story repeated but this time it came out from both ends, simultaneously, I kid you not! I am mildly amused at how talented the body is getting rid of bacteria. 8 am I had a final episode of throwing up, gave instructions to the husband and off to the pharmacy he went. The following 2 days I spent between bed and the toilet (must have gone at least 30 times), feeling weak, nauseas, dizzy. Barely had energy to take the dog out for 5 minutes. Bless her, she spent most of the time with me in bed watching me sip rehydrating sachets and water. Today I am happy to report I'm definitely on the mend. Had some banana last night and toast and apple this morning. I can look at food again, yay! Don't think I will ever buy from this chinese again and probably not eat out for a while. And unless you want to risk getting a nasty food poisoning my advice is to stay away from that...
Read moreThe new Bamboo in La Nucia. In all honesty I have to say it's location, it's food, the views, the staff, parking are 100% better than the old restaurant. Firstly it shares a huge car park with other stores on a busy small retail park, which by the way is well worth a visit. The restaurant is on the ground floor which is a huge plus for everyone. The layout in particular the open terrace with to die for uninterrupted views of the whole of Benidorm is a massive bonus. The staff are friendly, very attentive. The food is quickly served and tastes Delicious. The menu is extensive and I have to say the main courses for me are wonderful. All in all a must visit. Well done everyone involved for creating a wonderful...
Read morePlace is nice and has a gorgeous terrace. However , when I hear "free buffet" I imagine trays of cooked and raw food from which one can choose and bring to a cook for him to prepare. This is not the case in this restaurant. You select whatever item you want from a menu, a large variation of traditional Chinese dishes and sushi. All you can eat, basically. The food was pretty good quality for the price, we definitely got very full and the drinks were included. All in all a very good experience, however I would NOT recommend this restaurant for the "buffet" aspect of it. But a good Chinese restaurant non the less....
