Restaurante Casa Ángel — Restaurant in La Orotava

A large group of us ladies went to this restaurant on Monday, when you first walk in, you feel immediately welcome and are greeted with warm and friendly faces. The waiter was run off his feet as there was 20 plus in our group, but was a consummate gentleman and served us all with a smile and as fast as he possibly could under that amount of pressure! The food..... what can I say? The chef is incredible!! We had a set menu which he explained to us all and asked if there was any special requirements, me being the non meat eater didn't want to make a fuss but he produced a main course for me which was absolutely delicious and everyone at my table was in pure food heaven from the homemade bread with salsas, then a delightful salad, mushroom and truffle risotto, mains of salmon lasagne or pork, mine was a ravioli with a cream sauce, and finished off with a sticky toffee pudding, all washed down with a few glasses of great wine! I couldn't recommend this restaurant more, it is a must, you will not be disappointed and will leave wanting to return the next day! Everything was delicious and perfect. You can truly taste the passion and care in every dish: • The sausages with fries were excellent, full of authentic flavor. • The grilled dorada with green salad was fresh, well-cooked, and perfectly seasoned. • The tiramisu was absolutely outstanding – like something out of a fairytale! • The Bolognese pasta was excellent, among the best we’ve ever had.

On top of that, the chef – who is also the owner – was extremely kind, attentive, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even more special.

Viele meiner Feriengäste und Freunde haben uns vom Restaurant Casa Angel erzählt. Ein Grund für uns es einmal zu besuchen. Etwas abseits vom üblichen La Paz Rummel in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße gelegen betraten wir das kleine Restaurant. Der erste Eindruck mit den rot weiß karierten Tischdecken auf den kleinen Tischen versprach Gemütlichkeit. Das Restaurant war gähnend leer was uns zu der Uhrzeit etwas verwunderte. Empfangen wurden wir vom sehr freundlichen Inhaber, der wohl ein echter Allrounder war. Er war Inhaber, der Kellner und auch der Koch in einer Person. Es gab eine sehr kleine Karte mit einer kleinen Auswahl von Italiens Klassikern. Vorweg gab es für uns Baguette und Kräuterbutter. Dann entschieden und für Bruschetta und einen Büffelmozzarella mit Sherrytomaten. Es war lecker zubereitet, keine Frage, wenn auch keine so große kulinarische Offenbarung für uns. Im Hauptgang entschieden wir uns für Scampis in einer Tomatensauce. Sehr lecker zubereitet, aber auch das hat unseren italienischen Gaumen nicht so ganz glücklich gemacht. Als Dessert kam ein wirklich leckeres hausgemachtes Tirami Su. Das war gut und sehr lecker. Die Weinauswahl bestand aus offenem Weiß-, Rose-, und Rotwein. Irgendwie gab es keine Weinkarte oder eine Empfehlung für eine schöne Flasche italienischen Wein. Schade. Wir entschieden uns für einen offenen Shiraz (aus dem Mercadona) zu einem doch recht ordentlichen Preis im Verhältnis zum Einkauf. Unser Fazit. Einer kleiner individueller Laden mit bodenständiger Küche. Alles recht ordentlich gemacht. Wer gern schöne creative italienische Küche mit einem guten Glas Wein genießen möchte ist hier sicher verkehrt. Ansonsten hatten wir einen gemütlichen Abend und werden das Casa Angel sicher noch...
