Went twice over the past month while touring La Rioja Alavesa on bike. Absolutely loved the food and service. Was recommended by the bike outfitter and ended up liking it so much after the first time that I went, that I went again, lol. Menu is fixed, either short "executive" or longer, but all courses are reasonable in size and overall length so it's a nice lunch in a laid back village environment. In fact, the first time I chose the short menu and regretted not taking the longer menu because it is not that much more and it adds to the overall experience. You can tell that they pay special attention and emphasize quality in all their dishes! We both chose the tasting menu which was amazing and exceeded our expectations . We had a variety of starter dishes from the a la carte menu followed by a fish course a meat course and then a platter each of four small desserts. Exceptional cooking and great value for the price. We were excited to visit having read the reviews and stopped by on our drive to Logroño.
While the price at €55 for an 8-course tasting menu is competitive, sadly, the entire experience did not live up to our expectations. The food is generally overcooked and all a bit soft, lacking texture and seasoning.
While the food is delivered promptly, the service is quite half-hearted, with dishes and cutlery placed without care.
Wine by the glass is just white or red, with no explanation as to the type of wine and no-one...
