Khataris — Restaurant in Los Alcázares

Very poor experience. We ordered nachos with chili con carne and two burgers. Three guests received their food and finished eating, but the nachos had no meat at all—only beans—and the dish was cold. While three of us had finished, the burgers still hadn’t arrived. We asked for the bill, even though we hadn’t received the rest of our food.

The receipt listed two burgers, even though we never got them. I offered to pay the full amount, even though we hadn’t received half the food. However, she did remove the two burgers from the bill.

Fuimos bastante tarde, pero el camarero, muy amable, nos dijo que podíamos almorzar. El local es sencillo pero agradable. Pedimos una botella de vino blanco Albariño, recomendada por la camarera, que diría que estuvo bien, pero sinceramente no tenía ganas de elegir vinos ese día. Nota: probablemente una carta de vinos sería una buena adición.

Pedimos varios platos, todos muy interesantes. Comenzamos con una marinera rosa, un plato interesante pero que le faltaba un poco de intensidad. Estaba bueno, pero no era wow. Luego, pan brioche con anchoas y salsa huancaina, muy interesante pero que probablemente podría mejorarse con anchoas más grandes y menos salsa. Croquetas de pulpo y croqueta de jamón, las primeras extremadamente buenas, las segundas también buenas, pero inferiores a las de pulpo. Aun así, muy sabrosas. Como platos principales, calamares a la andaluza sucios, muy particulares pero extremadamente buenos, acompañados de una salsa fresca. Finalmente, pulpo roquero con vinagreta de aceitunas, un plato sencillo pero muy bien ejecutado con un pulpo bien trabajado. Y para terminar, la tarta de pistacho con helado de frutos rojos, divina. La tarta estaba realmente buena y la porción era generosa. Terminamos con dos cafés, también con un regusto interesante.

Gasto: 60€ para dos personas.

Puntos positivos: todo muy interesante, bien cocinado y con sabores particulares. Precios razonables, servicio muy atento y amable. Los calamares y la tarta de queso fueron excepcionales.

Puntos negativos: el vino podría estar sobrevalorado en relación a su calidad y precio. La marinera rosa tenía un sabor poco reconocible.

Conclusión: experiencia positiva, un local joven, bonito, con buenas perspectivas futuras y una propuesta gastronómica interesante.

My wife and I have been dinning in and around Los Alcazares for many years. Last night we decided to try Khataris for food, we enjoyed a few drinks the days before and the staff were amazing. Oh so glad we did, the food was fantastic, the young waiter recommended the Gamba Tempura, Cesar salad with crispy calamari and we had a couple of squid croquettes.
