Top quality food in a friendly, unpretencious setting. This is the perfect holiday restaurant!
Do you like gourmet food, but also like to get full after a meal? Then this place is for you.
A fantastic family run restaurant with top quality food, drinks, and service, in a low key, unpretencious setting. What a gem!
Order a la carte from a wide range of delicious, innovative small dishes and tapas, and a small, but fine selection of hearty yet fine main dishes.
We shared a number of superb small dishes, of which the tempura shrimp and the ceviche with lime and cilantro sorbet made the most lasting impression.
I had the slow grilled ribs of beef for a main course, which was so tender it literally melted in my mouth.
The head waiter (son of the family?) provided outstanding service and took great care of us with both food and drinks - we got an amazing Rioja red wine for a very decent price.
This is the kind of place that almost hurts to recommend, because the selfish part of me wants to keep it to myself. But they deserve all the lavish they can get!
PS. They also have their own bodega wine shop, worth...

The food was delicious… although the starters definitely looked very lost on the plates. The desserts sympathize with the starters feeling very small and lonely on the plates. No pic of my dessert. A bit embarrassing as it was only a shot glass (Sorbets: Mojita 6,00 €)
Some of the service is new and doesn’t quite have a plan 😂 but they tried.

Read moreWe have been going to La Tropical for over a decade. The food and service have both been excellent! However, on our most recent visit on 27th Sept the experience was memorable, for all the wrong reasons! With the exception of the gentleman who greeted us on arrival and served our drinks, the service was abysmal! The waiter and the maitre d (I hope I've spelt it correctly) couldn't care less if they tried! On every previous visit the waiters went through the menu with us. They were really passionate about the food. But not on this occasion! The menus were just left on the table! The starters, all four of them, just shoved on the table! A few issues with the food in that the caldero was served without the broth and alioli sauce with the fish! We must mention the non-caramelised peach creme brulee, complete with, what appeared to be, tinned fruit in the middle! It looked like something the cat had fetched up! All in all a very disappointing experience! The poor service means we'll head off to Restaurant Rebate for our standout...
