QUALITY FOOD, GOOD SERVICE & REASONABLE PRICING MAKE THIS TAPERIA A SUCCESS
I found this place late on Saturday night, 10/02/2018, in a side street, literally 5 minutes walk towards the centre from the Zenit Hotel, in the Hotel Zone North.
It looked lively from the outside (see picture) and was crowded with families with young children and couples.
My first choice hamburgesita was sold out, so I settled for a recommendation of Pan de Cristal with tomato and cheese filling (see picture); which took a while to come from the small side kitchen area, but was well worth the wait.
The una cana had a little too much froth for my liking but my bill with a Magno as well was only, €10.20; so can't complain too much about a small beer measure.
They have an interesting selection of unusual drinks on the gantry including a home made lemon disaronno and a sweet Cuban Ron called Legendario (see picture of bottle) that I saw people drinking with coke (the soft drink, not the drug!), ice and orange. I was kindly allowed a taste of each (which the barman deftly cooled with an ice cube quickly removed) and definitely preferred the latter.
I engaged the staff in conversation well past closing time and was impressed by the dedication and commitment of the young group of owners. They understand that quality food, good service and reasonable pricing are a recipe for success in the taperia business.
The staff all speak as much English as they need.
Apparently, they've been open a year and I wish them...
Read moreMy mother and I were here in July 2022, so this review is a bit over due. This was our last night In Spain when we came here, we wish we'd discovered it sooner. As we both decided that this was the best place we had been to - a glorious Spanish food experience - clearly made for locals. Everything we tried was absolute bliss, there's no way that I am never coming again. I will be back for more.
Considering we didn't really speak Spanish, nor did they speak much English, they were fantastic with us. Thankfully the power of technology was a great help, I was able to use Google translate to read the menu. And properly convey what we wanted, I just wish I had learnt more Spanish haha.
They put up with me using translate to convey with them, and were incredibly patient and kind. I cannot recommend this place enough, a fantastic experience...
Read moreI would mark it with no stars if it was possible, not to decrease average marks they have and because we in the end didn't eat there. Namely, we were staying in Malaga in Cristo de la Epidemia, and simply wanted to eat in a taperia from the quarter. Could not do it. Hungry, asked for a table outside, and waited at least 10 minutes on the street waiting for a table to be cleaned, with no apparent reason, as the place was not full at all. Two waiters were sporadically coming out, coming in, one of them telling us "in a second", which obviously took way much longer. We just left, knowing there are hundreds of good...
