Can't say I was at all impressed by the food.
For a starter, I opted for the spring rolls which were relatively tasteless, and the dipping sauce that was served with them could've been nothing more than diluted tomato ketchup at a ratio of 80% water, 20% ketchup.
I know Chinese food is cooked really quickly over a high heat to seal in flavours and vitamins etc, but my chicken was cooked so fast it was absolutely tasteless. For a main, I went for the Pollo Gong Bao (Kung Pao Chicken) Don't get me wrong, it was cooked, but the texture was as if it was raw. It was extremely rubbery, full of skin and grizzle, and to be honest totally tasteless. The sauce of a Kung Pao is supposed to have a bit of heat from Chilli, with a few cashew or peanuts added. There was little to no heat from the chilli, and I may as well have just bought a large bag of peanuts what with the amount of nuts that were in the dish . The portion size (in my opinion) was far too big for a single person to eat, so can't complain about that and if you could stomach it, I suppose you could do a doggy bag with the leftovers.
Can't say anything bad about the plain steamed rice.
The restaurant itself is massive, very tidy, clean and comfortable, and I imagine looking at the size of some of the tables, they cater for large groups at times however, I felt I could not relax over my dinner.
There was only a single couple other than myself at the restaurant when I visited, and I felt I was being watched with every mouthful of food I put in my mouth. I was approached probably about 15 times during the course of my visit, and as soon as the waiter saw there was still food on my plate he turned away and I felt it was almost as if the waiter wanted me to hurry up, finish and leave.
Sorely dissapointed with this particular dining experience, and perhaps so are others around the area, and that may exlain why there was only another two diners in the restaurant.
I doubt I'll ever visit the...
Read moreWe went for lunch on a Saturday in August, a party of 4 adults and 2 children. We ordered a variety of dim sum, a half Peking duck €35, beef in oyster sauce, a shrimp dish, Cantonese fried rice and Cantonese noodles. We were advised that there would not be enough food and recommended we asked for a whole duck €55, which we did.
There was too much food. The food was good, however it arrived in a bizarre sequence. The dim sum, followed by the noodles, followed by the rice, then the duck, and lastly the beef and shrimp. The food, as per the other reviews was excellent.
There were 7 tables occupied that day, and 2 servers and one restaurant manager. The servers spoke barely any Spanish, and paid little attention to us. We had to repeatedly ask for the empty serving plates and used plates to be cleared. On one occasion I had to move plates myself because there was no room on the table and take clean napkins off another table - for which the manager reprimanded me. We ran out of sauce for the duck, asked for additional and the manager brought over a new bowl of sauce and slammed it onto the table without looking in our direction.
As our table was against the window, it became very hot and we asked to be moved to a cooler area so we could have dessert - we were permitted to do so, however it was clearly not something the manager wanted, although the restaurant was empty.
All in all, it was not a pleasant experience and no matter how good the food, I will not...
Read moreVery disappointing, the place was beautiful and the food good enough but sadly and what made all the difference, was the service. The were extremely disorganised, three different waiters at least asked us the same thing for be seated, to take our drink orders and when bringing the food late or mixed up.
One of the waitress seamed to not know the language properly, she forgot to clarify the wine as we were asking for white and she brought red, then after we ordered they brought everything in weird orders being one of the starters the last thing to bring to the table, the waiting time for each plate was crazy and there were only 6tables for 5waiters, and when they finally brought the dishes wanting to be fancy would change our plates but making us wait another 15min to be able to enjoy the platter we had in front.
We were really looking forward to try this place and it looks so great but was a...
