Los Crustáceos — Restaurant in Madrid

I almost feel bad leaving this review, because this place is such a gem. It's very much a for locals, by locals kind of place - so if you don't speak Spanish, you may want to think twice before coming.

Otherwise, the ambiance is busy, the seating is uncomfortable, the service is slow - and the authenticity of the experience only adds to the absolutely phenomenal, fresh, dirt cheap seafood.

My back hurts, I ate way too much way too fast, and I enjoyed every second of it....

Wonderful little family owned "barrio" bar, serving fresh, high quality seafood at rock bottom prices in a matching ambiance. Ana and Alberto have run this restaurant under the radar for many many years. Come here if you want to experience the amazing price/quality food Spain is famous for, if you like simple things from an era before the internet existed. Place is quite small, so you should arrive early if you want to have a seat. I discovered this place through some friends, and believe, it was a huge surprise.
