Factoria Gastrobar — Restaurant in Manacor

Tonight I had one of the best meals of my life. I was sitting at my home in the countryside of Mallorca and was feeling bored and hungry when I decided to venture out to another town in search of something to eat. I drove about 30 minutes to Manacor, which is Mallorca's second largest city and the birthplace of tennis player Rafael Nadal. Once I arrived in Manacor I found a place called Factoria Restaurant. I was greeted by Juan the bartender and he set me up with a table. I was flying solo tonight and may have actually enjoyed the essence of my meal more because of it. I can't remember ever having a dining experience that had me savoring every bite from beginning to end. I was fully immersed in the flavors interacting with my tastebuds, and no joke, I was smiling after each bite because everything tasted so good.

I had the black yucca bread appetizer and highly recommend it because it's f--cking delicious. I followed that up with the grilled pork dish and there are no words to explain how tasty that was. I almost drowned in flavor ecstasy and was enjoying my meal so much that chef and owner Tomeu Bauzá, actually came out to thank me for my appreciation of the culinary art he was creating in the kitchen. We chatted for a bit and then it was time for dessert. He walked me through each option, but in the end I still couldn't decide so he brought me both, again more flavor ecstasy.

I thoroughly enjoyed my solo date with food tonight. Chef Tomeu is a super cool guy creating flavorful masterpieces and is grateful to have the opportunity to share his art with others.

La verdad que fuimos con mi esposa porque nos lo habían recomendado mucho. Llegados al restaurante, la atención de las camareras (que no daban a basto) fue buena. Luego llegó el turno de pedir, y, a la vez que iban llegando los platos, también llegaba una desilusión tras otra. Primero pedimos croquetas, la cuál estaba congelada en el centro y sin sabor a nada. Luego fue el turno del foie de pato con chutney de mango. No eras más que un foie de los baratos y congelados, marcado en plancha desde hacía rato y terminado en horno a la hora de servir, el cuál se convirtió en un chicle, y el chutney era una mermelada de bote con trozos de mango. Luego pedimos el calamar relleno de embutido mallorquín, otro desastre de comida. Lo habían marcado en plancha hacía un buen rato y a la hora del servicio lo terminaron en el horno, era incomible, una suela de zapato, encima estaba sobre un puré de patatas mezclado con puré de manzanas, que también era de bote. Se perdió todo el sabor. Luego pedimos un taco de cerdo, la tortilla estaba bien, pero la carne de cerdo era sólo cabeza de lomo hervida con algunas especias y luego mechada para servir, el Chef no tiene ni idea de lo que es un taco mexicano ni como se tiene que cocinar la comida mexicana. El siguiente plato fue dumplings de pato ..... Un espanto, 4 pastas filo rellenas de carne de pato hervido, terminadas con una salsa de naranja amarga también de bote. Por último llegó el pulpo, con unas patatas asadas, no era el mejor pulpo que he probado, pero fue lo mejor de la tediosa cena que nos tocó pasar. Llegó la cuenta .... Realmente es una estafa el precio pagado por la comida servida. No me molesta pagar el precio que sea, me molesta que me engañen. Le recomiendo al Chef, que realice algún curso respecto a cocina. Definitely 5 Stars!!! Hospitality TOP !!! Food delicious !!! We really love this place and we will come back on our small break on Mallorca this month. Really we enjoyed everything.
