I have been doing a Total Tennis and Fitness Half week during April 2023 and the overall experience was good although its important to highlight a few points if you are looking to go:
- The program covers 3 group tennis sessions of 2h; depends on how they organise the teams it could be you will match or not with other team members levels. If not, like my case, they will replace it for 3 individual sessions of 1h. In my case Alex Moya and Eduardo (Valencia) did a great job and we had good trainings. Courts are in a very good state and you will enjoy playing there. - Fitness sessions are just 2 with the same group and are located in the gym. The trainer was professional and you will feel tight after it. - For solo travelers they should promote social interaction as they don’t plan anything for it. My tip will be to speak with your team members or go at 17:30 to the museum as its when hotel guests have free entry and you could have a chance to meet someone there or in the terrace. - Main language is English as guests are more international than spaniards. Not a problem if you can communicate. - Drinks are not included in the prepaid menu and you will need to pay it there or at the check out. I will suggest at the check out to avoid confussions as it could be messy and surprise you at the end of the trip. Restaurant must have better control of the bills. Better keep all the receipts. - For the Spa, bring your swimming cap or they will charge you 6€ as its mandatory. Spa is pretty decent and has good relaxing options. - Rooms are big enough but a bit noisy when people walks in the main aisle. - Museum shop doesn’t have tax free and stock is very limited. They only have stock of the expensive clothes… really disappointing. - Rafa Club shop it has tax free and a lot of tennis clothes but service could be better and prices are high …££ Rafa clothes avg price 80€ t-shirt - If you are a hotel guest you will have 1h of tennis court booking for free, lights not included… really? ££ - You can book Spa massages but be careful and be clear on which one you want to avoid confussions… I asked for A and I got B for double of price… would be a silly mistake? ££ - Hotel guests have the indoor parking although is not mentioned anywhere. The security guy Miguel was really kind and professional. - Outside the courts, I felt some people of the reception/restaurant/shops service a bit tight and exhausted, in some ocasions they were not polite. - Meals included the with package are all buffet ones without drinks…££, I will say the food is a 7 of 10 in terms of quality. For lunch you have buffet option for 16€ without drinks and Menu option too. - If you want to see Rafa, all stars must be aligned but high chances will be during the morning at gym or on his court. He is really kind with everyone for pictures. Thank you clay King! - Rent a car just in case you want to visit any town around or see the sea. The Academy is big enough to stay there but its good to move around. The overall experience was good but I felt they always wanted to charge me for something although the program price is pretty high. I understand they “need to survive” but being honest the experience will be a 10 if you don’t have the feeling that they want to leak out your wallet. Inside the courts, the level of the coaches is high and you will enjoy!

-Communication was extremely poor, and as a client, I felt neglected and disoriented from arrival. - Adult tennis camp: some senior coaches are sometimes around but mostly you get 20 year old tennis players on a summer job. I would not recommend this camp for the experienced player. Maybe just the beginners. I didn’t learn anything new. - Kids camp and Boarding Experience for Kids: My kids were very unhappy with their stay. The guardians assigned were not only disorganised but also lacked the warmth and cordiality expected. Much to my dismay, most kids were excessively engaged with their mobile phones rather than participating in activities. My kids have not improved at all in their tennis. Too little attention is given to each child to actually improve. Again inexperienced coaches doing their summer jobs -Facilities: Although aesthetically pleasing, the layout of the residence is a convoluted labyrinth. To reach my room required an excessive amount of navigation. Also cleaning in common areas or rooms was very superficial. -Staff and Management: The operations are disorganised, hinting at a need for professional hotel management. Moreover, the reception staff was the epitome of rudeness and lacked professional decorum. -Food and Healthcare: The restaurant options and food quality were average, but a serious concern arose when my son suffered from food poisoning. The advertised nurse, who should be an essential presence considering the nature of the camp, was inconsistently available. -Children's Experience: My children, despite being in different age groups and levels, mirrored my feelings of dissatisfaction and stagnancy. The inability to progress in their game was a significant drawback. Unfortunately, the involvement of lead coaches was absent. In conclusion, the Rafa Nadal Camp and Residence proved to be an unprofessional, disorganised, and inefficient experience. Despite being great fans of Nadal, this camp was a letdown and I would not recommend it to others. It’s time the management takes this feedback seriously for future improvements.

So much to say! This place is wonderful. Top tennis academy. I did the full week total tennis plus program for adults (half board) and it was excellent. Staff, facilities, food, spa, overall service all top notch. Very good value for all you get (prices fluctuate depending on season but overall very good). The museum is pretty cool too. They have two shops with tons of cool items (not that many sizes though mostly XS and S). They have a well stocked bar (lots of people would get together to watch Rafa in RG 2022 which was fun) and an excellent restaurant (I am a big foodie and loved the buffet). You breath tennis all day. There are some really beautiful beaches close by too (15-20 min by car). The tennis program had the right level of intensity, learned a ton. Special kudos to coaches Alex, Lucy, Yohan and Claudia (Yohan and Claudia were awesome take a private lesson with them if you can). We worked on specific areas (groundstrokes, serve, return, volleys, competition plays, etc.) and learned a lot. They know their stuff and were very friendly and welcoming. The lessons were properly structured and had a good balance overall covering all key aspects. I specially liked Claudia's gameplay scenario exercises (i.e. jusy play backhand or just play cross court forehand). Not that many people in some of the program days so it felt like private lessons almost. Overall, the tennis program pushed myself to become a better player and I did (which is what I wanted). It even helped me grow a a person (they emphasize a lot of Rafa's principles). Even got to meet Toni Nadal. I am considering a longer stay next time I go. Fantastic experience!

Rooms, facilities, front desk - amazing.

Breakfast, dinner, restaurant - amazing.

Tennis lessons - very good. There are improvements that could be made to the processes (it is my point of view as a customer, I could be wrong. It is not a complaint. I just want to provide feedback): I wish I could be able to book private lessons online and choose the coach's level, rent a racket online, and rent a court online. As I understand it, this can currently be done by writing an email or going to the sport desk, but these methods are very slow. It would be helpful to measure how much time it takes between receiving an email and getting a response. If you would like to know how it could work, I have a good example, which is the Liga Tennis app. I trained at their tennis center in Bali, Indonesia, and it was super comfortable. In their app, you can book a court, private lessons, choose a coach, rent a racket and balls, find someone to play with, arrange games with people, and see your progress. I think it could be more right to pay for private lessons according to the coach's level, but as I understand it, the price is currently the same for all coaches. Before my arrival at the academy, I received an email asking me to fill out a form where I had to provide all details about my trip and the program I paid for. I don't understand why this was necessary because the academy already had my booking where they could find all this information. I received an email with the schedule, but unfortunately, it was in the spam folder. Perhaps this is just my problem, but it would be good if there was a way to make sure that important emails don't go to spam. There is no way to know the court number except by going to the sport reception or residence reception. This information could be provided online. I came without a racket as I am a beginner and don't have my own. I had to rent a racket from a sport shop, which was a surprise because I thought that if I bought a program, the racket would be included. Usually, whenever I take a private lesson, the coach gives me a racket. I am okay with renting a racket, but I wish I had known about it before. I had to spend 10 minutes of my private lesson trying to rent a racket. Thanks to the shop, they rented me one without an ID, but with a 100 euro deposit, as I did not have my ID with me.

Spa - good. There are improvements that could be made to the processes (it is my point of view as a customer, I could be wrong): Currently, there is no option to book online, only by email. This is a very slow method, and the spa reception does not answer on weekends, only Monday to Friday. It would be great to have the ability to book and pay online and receive an email confirmation, and be able to save the event to the calendar automatically. I had an issue when booking a massage. I sent an email suggesting two times when I could come, and I received a response the next day (because I sent the message late in the evening). The response was, "Sure, no problem," and nothing more. It was not informative, and I did not understand if I had a booking and at what time.

Overall, I am very thankful to my coach, the academy is an amazing place, and I will definitely come back.

P.S. I cannot choose two programs on your assessment form, only one. I had total tennis weekend and...
