Went out to eat the lunch menu, which at 30€ per person was one of the best value for money you can find for this type of restaurant in the Marbella area. The menu included an assortment of starters, a main course (you could choose from several options), and dessert. On top of that, you could choose one free drink of choice.

Service was extremely attentive, but not intrusive. We were well looked after. Each dish was explained in detail. Glasses were filled regularly.

Food itself was superb. Very high quality, and the taste was excellent.

Will be returning.

Edit: After a year, we have returned for dinner, and unfortunately this time the experience was not as magical. The food was still all as good as before, some of the best sushi we've had, but what really was not good was the service. They kept messing up our orders, having to ask multiple times what wine we ordered. They brought out one wrong dish, and the bill had one too many glasses of wine on it. On our previous visit every dish was explained in detail, but now no such treatment. Dishes were brought out, and not a word was said - don't know if this was due to lack of English skills or what, but it felt a bit cold. One of the servers from our previous visit was there, and he brought out one dish of sushi for us. He went into good detail about the dish, such as what order to eat the fish in etc. Unfortunately, he didn't serve us the entire night. It shouldn't be so that your experience is entirely dependent and different depending on who happens to be...

we found this place buy chance we drove past never knew what the place was then i google the name and we decided to go without reservation. as i like to go to places without reservation. We were greeted and given a freedom to choose our own table so we choose the table near the balcony road side. the place looked really clean and modern. the staff were super attentive explained us all the menu and we decided to let the server create a menu for us, each dish was better than the last, we had the crispy rice with Tuna, Salmon with the miso sauce, the Pop corn Chicken was so good, the portion size was pretty big considered to some places who do the same shrimp dish. we tried the Beef skewers from the robata and that was amazing too, then came the black cod was out of this world better than NOBU I have to say. their special sushi rolls were also as good. this place not just does sushi but they do a bit of everything which is great the server brought was food from all the various section of the kitchen and it was a good choice of menu from the server part and we absolutely loved it. i was just a little taken back to why this place is not jam packed with people queuing to eat. a real hidden gem in the heart of Nueva Andalucía , a spot you shouldn't miss if you are in town. Later i got to speak with the owner a humble young man , who told me his story and then i found out he was the former Nobu hence the Black cod. A 5 star place with a 5 staff, food, quality and service....

After waiting three years to write this review, I can confidently say that Tomadachi is by far the best Japanese restaurant in Marbella. From the ambiance and service to the spectacular food, this restaurant offers an unparalleled dining experience, consistently maintaining high quality over the years.

The Salmon Karashimiso is a standout dish that even converts those who normally shy away from salmon sashimi. Classic options like popcorn shrimp, edamame, and gyoza are always flavorful and satisfying. The Dragon Delux Maki Roll and Soft Shell Crab Roll are some of the best sushi rolls I've ever tasted, absolutely delicious. The Miso Black Cod is a masterpiece, perfectly prepared every time. and lastly their desserts, paired with excellent ice cream flavors, provide a delightful finish to the meal.

The attentive servers at Tomadachi stand out in providing exceptional service, a crucial aspect often lacking in many restaurants, especially during the high season. Yet, they never fail in this regard. Special recognition goes to the owner, Banti, who is always present to ensure customer satisfaction and offer excellent recommendations.

Thank you for consistently delivering a great dining experience. This place truly deserves to be Marbella’s #1 favorite. I hope my delayed review is forgiven Banti. And lastly, I wholeheartedly guarantee that dining here is 100%...
