BAR MESON LA HIGUERA — Restaurant in Miranda de Ebro

We had dinner at this restaurant while staying for the night in Miranda de Ebro. It was a Monday evening, and most of the restaurants in the area were closed. We didn't have a big expectation, as we had our dog with us (the restaurant doesn't have a terrace at the moment) and don't eat meat. Nevertheless we went in and asked if we could have some takeaway food. The guy (who I believe is the owner) was so kind! He immediately told us we could have his table inside the restaurant (with the dog) and proposed some vegetarian options. We had a wonderful time and the food was very tasty and freshly made. We will surely come back next time we are in town....

Easy to miss from the street but what a place ! . We only stopped for a couple of tapas but got carried away by the wonderful menu. Red peppers stuffed with minced beef and potato where fabulous but the real highlight was the scrambled eggs with morcilla , perfectly cooked soft eggs with lots of delicious delicate morcilla . My only regret is that the eggs and morcilla came up last and was so rich we didn’t quite finish it all. The staff where very accommodating considering our feeble attempts at speaking Spanish and really took good care of us . The icing on the cake was the price - fabulous value . La higuera en Miranda, tapas generosas y buen precio

Mi prima Merche había reservado sitio y con la dificultad de poder acercarse a la zona reservada para el comedor conseguimos ser atendidos y sentarnos y tras una buena espera ya que el local estaba lleno hicimos el pedido.

Fue una cena para 4 personas y pedimos todo a compartir

Pagamos 💶 No hice fotos del ticket por lo que no recuerdo con exactitud lo que costó pero no llegaba a 70 € para 4 personas el decir menos de 20 € por persona y que incluía una botella de vino de Rioja.

Comimos 🍴 Ensalada de pimientos, muy rica. 🍴 La excelente y famosa oreja rebozada de Miranda que para mí es una delicia. 🍴 Unas alcachofas con jamón presentadas de forma muy curiosa. 🍴 Patatas al cabrales. 🍴 Un inmenso revuelto con setas. 🍴 Carne de picadillo que para mí es más magro adobado que picadillo por el tamaño de los trozos de la carne.

Apuntes 🗨 Para mí lo mejor fue la ensalada de pimientos y la oreja rebozada y también destacaría el picadillo. 🗨 No nos aconsejaron muy bien, pensamos que con los cinco primeros platos sería suficiente pero la señora, al preguntarla nos indicó que no era mucho por lo que pedimos el picadillo que verdaderamente sobró. 🗨 Desde el punto de vista gastronómico experiencia no puede pasar de tres estrellas, he estado pensando en subirlo a cuatro por el precio moderado que tiene, pero el ruido, insufrible e inolvidable le lleva de nuevo a tres estrellas.
