Montserrat Buffet — Restaurant in Monistrol de Montserrat

We had our family day trip to Montserrat jun 29 2024. We pre bought our tickets for the trip that had the fare for the train and foniculars, museum, reservations to see the Black Madonna. But we only got 2 tickets for the buffet. We wanted to see what they were serving before we did buy for 4 cause each costs 19.90 euros we did not want to waste money if the kids would not like it. But as soon we got there after half a day of walkin, we were relieved of the great selections that they have and it included drinks, no coffee but, they have soda , beer , wine and water on their tap. How awesome is that! And not only that its a good thing we did not pay for the kids online cause when we got there the kids were only 12.50 euros age 5 to 11 less than 5 i did not ask. But that definitely saved us some more money. And the food tasted great! They were all like home made good quality food! They did not have beef but had pork chicken pasta vegetarian selections the vegetarian paella was very good. You could make your own salad or sandwich they had a good selection desserts - fruits , cakes , a few pastries and gellato. Over all we were really satisfied. The scenery was also great the place was huge and clean. If you dont want to go to a buffet there is a cafeteria where you will spend half the price. But if you like buffets, i would highly recommend this place while in montserrat. Its way at the end and the clouds...

Came in late December. We were very hungry so we chose this restaurant. Paid up at cashier and chose a seat away from the afternoon sun and started for the buffet line. As we sat to eat, a stern looking young waiter with a beard strode up to us and demanded to know why we were sitting there and did any colleagues of his place us there. First up, there was no one to usher us to a table when we paid to enter . Secondly, we chose a sensible seat which did not have any reservations notice placed on it. Thirdly, the guy could have asked politely at least, you are in the customer service line after all. Gave me undertones of racism. If I can give zero stars I would . He demanded that we move to another table, okay like I’m fine with it, but just say please at least. Spoilt my trip . Do...

Considering it was an all you can eat buffet, wide selection of different foods and part of our "Tot Monserrat" package, it was not really that bad. As long as you are not expecting a gourmet experience and remember you are in a tourist destination that is catering to a huge amount of people at the same time then you will not be disappointed. Some of the food is rather tasteless, but again, we did not go in with high expectations considering the location. Most disappointing was the amount of tables and sections reserved for tour groups leaving many people standing waiting for somewhere to sit. If tour groups want to make reservations, then they should go to one of the many restaurants...
