Having read some of the other reviews I was worried, very worried, especially as this is the only restaurant up here for those staying in the hotel. Firstly I'd like to clarify the price. It is a fixed menu of 3 courses, for €27 - not as some have said, €42. Fist course I chose the Spinach cannelloni with a creamy sauce, it was fine. Mains I chose the Beef Shank, with mushrooms, which was huge. Dessert was a bowl of fresh fruit salad. For value you'd find this very hard to beat in a tourist area, it was excellent. The menu is limited however, mains were Cod (fish), Duck or the Beef. No vegetarian option and Vegans should run for the hills. I eat meat though and was not at all dissatisfied. Only real criticism is lack of any vegetable or potato sides. A big bowl of beef was nice, but could do with some veg. Ok, service. This is something many have pointed to in their review as being poor. I think it's important to make one thing clear, we're in Spain, more precisely in Catalonia and we do not speak Spanish or Catalan. It's arrogant to expect everyone to speak English so it may seem that they're unfriendly and a little abrasive, but really, they're not and will respond to a smile and a thank you like anyone else. Don't be too harsh in expecting Michelin star service, the staff here are just fine. If I were asked to make a helpful suggestion I'd echo what someone else said about having some olive oil to dip the (free) bread in, and have some basic sides of greens or potato, otherwise this isn't a bad place to eat. We're going back again on our second night here, which while we don't really have a choice, isn't something I'm dreading. Oh and almost forgot, extra note for the background music: Pink Floyd - Wish you...

Americans avoid this place. My husband and I had lunch reservations. We were there just as the restaurant opened. The hostess seemed very suprised we had reservations as foreigners. Although no one else was there yet, she walked us all the way through the 2 empty rooms of the restaurant and sat us at a small table pressed up to a cash register and wall, that was closest to the doorway. She threw the menus down and walked away. It was the absolutely the worst table in the entire place. When I kindly asked the 3 waiters present if we could sit at a table by the window to see the spectacular view rather than against a wall in the corner furthest from the windows and in the doorway, he said, "No, the restaurant was full for reservations." He shook his head and walked away rolling his eyes to the other 2 waiters. It was outrageous and disgusting to be treated in such a manner just because we are Americans. We walked out in utter shock, unable to believe what just occurred. This place should be ashamed of treating U.S. guests in such a...

Not like a normal hotel, bit shabby, but the surroundings make up for it. Breakfast is good, plenty of variety, and they keep restocking everything. The breakfast can be a bit manic as there are a lot of people there but the staff try hard to do everything, sometimes it takes a little bit of time to get a table cleaned, but it's understandable given the volume of people. If you're staying in the hotel make sure to pop down to the manual car park attendant to get your ticket validated, you have to bring the card you get from the check in desk with you and the car park entrance ticket to show that you're staying in the hotel and then you pay for however many days you're staying, we stayed for 2 days with a motorcycle cost of €7, and it means that you can go in and out without any bother you still have to take a ticket going back into the car park but you can discard the new ticket just make sure you bring the validated ticket with you...

Delicious food and attentive service. It caters well to people with gluten intolerance. Lots of local choices and products (lovely local olive oil and local wine). The menu had a selection of delicious treats including strawberry gaspacho, tuna tartar, eggplant and cheese mini empanadas, croqueta, etc… they were all served individually, first the cold choices then the hot starters. For the main course, we could choose from a great variety of dishes for all tastes. There’s a kids menu as well. My son chose the breaded chicken and it was very well seasoned and cooked, juicy and tender while also crunchy on the outside. Highly recommend for travelers exploring Montserrat for the day. We made reservations in advance.
